The TSB and new part came out in 2017 and covers some cars made in 2017 so it all depends on the build date of your car.

I think you should do a few searches before assuming anything. The TOB has been revised and replaced with a new part number and it has been highly discussed in the forum.

Ahhh - that's OK. At least we know of a OEM TOB that lasted 150,000 miles.

Consider yourself relatively lucky that your car's TOB lasted that long, which is about twice longer than average.

Yes, but in the good way. I have to say this car is perfect for my driving habits and location. If I still lived in the Seattle area it would be pointless to buy such a car - at least for me. It's all about the beautifully maintained, cop free twisties of Kentucky for me. In Seattle it would be a ticket magnet that I could rarely really put through its paces.

I had a v-twin rider mower that kept bending rods. The lifters sometimes stuck. I'd just pull the rods, pound them straight with a hammer, and finish mowing. But it got worse and worse. Eventually I hit Youtube to find a solution. One video mentioned that mice or birds might build nests in the enclosed air cooling path around the cylinders, causing them to overheat and thus causing teh valves to stick.

Sure enough, I took the shroud off and the offending cylinder was completely enveloped in straw/grass and when I got that off all the cooling fins were completely embeded in dirt.

I cleaned it and never had another problem.

Then there was the time a bunny chewed through my fuel line.

I don't see those threads until I need to, and then I sometimes see them too late. My bad.

I just did it out of order this time. Because of my high miles compared to everyone else, I just assumed my problem was fairly unique and didn't even bother to look. Who knew it was a serious design defect.
