The brake boot looks like it should have been that way all along. I think an upgrade to the visors would be good because when I was in an FRS, they seemed so cheap and ugly.

Mod #4: Boot/Trunk Lid Cover

(Updated mileage in OP. At 3311.3 miles averaging 31.64MPG)

Ordered the BRZ boot lid liner from SubaruOnlineParts.COM a few weeks back and received it early last week. Finally had a few minutes to snap it in. I was a little disappointed that it is basically a PVC backing with a thin layer of felt on it because I had wanted to have it embroidered with a logo and my 1st86 serial number. For now though, I've installed as is.

The liner is a perfect match for the rest of the trunk liner.

Here's what came in the box. The Liner, 7 push connectors, two air fresheners (smell like apple I think) and a BRZ accessory catalog.

And here are close-ups of the parts labels and the back of the liner...

Not much to installing it. It's precut and prepunched so it really just slides in place, and you slip the connectors in. It took longer to get the connectors out of the wrap then it did to install.

Here's before and after.

Also, here's a view from the inside with the trunk closed, since this was asked for in another thread. The area below the yellow line is what you see when I am in a driving position and look either in the rear view mirror or turn around.

Some may want to cover all the body color, in which case you'll need to go custom. I don't drive with the seat down unless I'm hauling stuff so my real goal was covering the holes and the wires, which this does.

Way less than that, its very thin and mostly backing. I'd be surprised if it weighs over a pound with the connectors but I didn't think to weigh it before adding it.

Don't have the receipt in front of me but it was $48 + Shipping, ended up being just short of $70.

I still had the box, the packaging, plastic wrappers for liner, holders, etc. The shipping weight was three pounds. Everything NOT installed in the car weighed 2lbs 15oz. Given UPS always rounds up, I'm thinking my original estimate of under a lb is correct.

Inside view of trunk liner

I added a view from inside the car of the trunk/boot liner in post #200 above.

That's great to know. Thanks for your feedback.

If this was 10-15yrs ago that thing would have been heavier I reckon

Yea, definitely.

It really is just a fuzzy piece of PET plastic, no carpet here. If you look at the photos above you can see on the back shot that they did everything they could to mold it as light as possible.

Even that is deceiving. On edge it is about an 1/8" thick. It is almost exactly as thick as the blade on the FR-S key.

Got my Tetsuya Tada signed 1st86 print!

OK, it's cool enough that they produced it and had it signed by Tetsuya Tada, but to make them color correct is just over the top!

That right there is worth the "penalty" of a Scion badge for me.

Crappy cellphone photo below:

Thanks for your very informative journal Dadhawk.. I can't believe I just read through all 10 pages! I'm considering getting an auto too (for family & MPG reasons), although I prefer manuals. This thread definitely gives me a much better idea of what owning the auto is like.

Liner & e-brake boot looks great btw!
