^ FYI that is a picture of my right side Advent 6003...rebuilt the woofer in the 00's after my best friend dropped them off at my house...twenty plus years down the road the surround on the woofer was powdered...FTR I thought they were destined for the trash heap after I looked into the conventional way of replacing the surrounds...it involved shimming the voice coil and then gluing on the surround with about a 50-50 chance of a noobie pulling it off...found a kit on eBay came with the surround, glue, a CD and instructions...you cleaned off the old surround from the metal and paper cone...applied glue...placed the surround with your best approximation of position...waited a specified time...turned the speaker on it's back and played the CD that had a sweep of sound from 10hz to 150hz and back...then left it all night to cure...

Worked like a charm...they are still my main stereo pair all these years latter...I keep expecting the crossover capacitors to die...but, so far Alla has smiled on my 35+ year old speakers....

Ever consider upgrading the crossovers? I bet you'd be amazed at how they would sound with nicer and new components.

I had Madisound build me a crossover on a Audax Homebrew ported two way...For that I knew all the specs on crossover frequency-ohm resistance of the drivers etc. etc....Are you just proposing pulling off elements of existing crossover & going with the same value newer caps, resistors & inductors?
