ECUTeK, specific tune for the car.

Fuel is United Kingdom 99RON Shell VPower Nitro. That equates to US 95RON. We can't get E85 over here sadly.

Thanks, it's a totally different car post tune. The car comes alive a lot earlier and is pretty much perfect right through to redline. Ok it's not the strongest pulling car, but it's smooth as silk now.

Anyone running the GS intake with the new Jackson Racing sandwich plate for the MY17+ intake? Would think that definitely clears but you never know.

Just for a laugh I took off the top plate to the intake tonight to hear what it sounds like. The ambient temps in the UK have dropped significantly over the last couple of weeks, with it being no warmer than about 8-10 degrees C (that's about 46F). Since I do a lot of motorway miles where there's lots of cool air getting in to the engine bay I figured it wouldn't hurt for a little while.

First impression, it bogs down when you pin it at low RPM, so air flow is obviously an issue now. Once it gets over that the butt dyno isn't noticing that big a difference. It's probably a couple of HP down but nothing that makes me thing, nah defo need the plate back on.

But. OMG the noise! I can't get over how much louder it is! Absurdly so in fact. That top plate removes so much intake noise I can't begin to describe it, the car sounds way more aggressive like this. I'm wondering if there's a way of sealing the top of the intake box to the underneath of the bonnet when closed, using something similar to the seal that's in the kit that you use around the snorkel entrance. I'm going to see if I can find anything and give it a go, since I'd love the noise but without the performance hit. Yeah, I want to have my cake and eat it.

Ran a log yesterday just to see what IAT's were like without the top plate on. Surprisingly, the delta was really quite small. Outside temps were about 8 or 9c, with IAT on a motorway (highway) run sitting at 11c. Not bad really.
