I measured on the car 17x7.5 +48 and it was flush at the front with no camber adjustment. |

I to have been on the fence about if ill like the wing or not but wanted it for track days anyway..... Glad now u have seen it u like it more... Should still buy the TRD one anyway hahaha.... Options are always good..... Needs a massive drop and some wide rims to fill those guards..... Look forward to the next set of pics...... Congrats........... Edit: Monty u dont want them flush though..... I know what ur saying about to far out that camber needs to be ridiculous, thats not the go but u do want a bit of camber anyway especially up front?.....

Yeah I like the filled guards look and besides I have no plans to track the car I will run 225 section and 255 section rears. My driveway is a bitch so I may not lower the car too much. Standard suspension is quite firm I am thinking maybe a spring change only is required with 400mm drop

Re: Picking up the GTS Aero Kit today woohoo!!

Going for a 17x7.5 +48 wheel I gain an extra 6mm outward on the front. That's the smallest offset 17x7.5 ADVAN RS available in 5x100. A 7.5 +37 would've been nice but such is life. My other option was going for a 17x8 +37 which extends outwards 24mm. I think 8" wide front is overkill. I don't want to run a 235 or 245 front. It's just an oddball match with a 255 rear. On the rear going for a 17x8.5 I gain an extra 19mm outward. Might still need to run 10mm hubcentric spacers for flushness. I'll measure that at work tomorrow. Front clearance is fine. I'll check the 19mm clearance inside and out at rear but I'm going to assume it should be OK. On the tyre front, a 225/45 increases sidewall height by 5mm and overall rolling diameter by 8mm. The rear with a 255/40 increases by the same amount. Totally acceptable in the name of keeping odometers and speedo in check. Specs will then be... 17x7.5 +48 with 225/45 and 17x8.5 +48 with 255/40 rear. More than enough tyre for a car like this. I know I've already posted that in the first post, but I'm just sanity checking. And a maximum weight of 12.4kg a corner. Not bad really. I've just measured one of the demos. Front wheel (measured from widest point on the tyre) is 10mm in from the guard. Rear wheel is 19mm. Wheels will sit in 4mm at the front and flush at the rear. Not bad for stock but once lowered they'll need to come out a bit with camber adjustment. _ I cut and paste the above from my projected build thread on another forum. |

Thanks m0nty, what kind of look are you trying to achieve? are your measurements from a standard 86? for people with the aero kit, it looks like whatever you have on a standard 86, it will appear a bit more sunken in than normal??

Going for more aggressive than standard with wheels close to flush. Height will not be too low. Tyres two finger gap from arches. Alignment settings same as stock. Will get Heasmans to measure car stock, and then reproduce settings with 40mm drop. I don't want to lose the original handling characteristics. Last edited by m0nty; 07-14-2012 at 10:05 PM. |

Hrm... doens't look too bad at all.
I was so close to just saying yes, I'm glad I didn't, but I wouldn't be miffed if I did. |
