Anyone from the more northern climates swapping on Winter Tires this season? I'm looking at a few options, and debating on ceramic coating my STI wheels to protect them from the weather as well (rather than buying another set of wheels).
I was looking at the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4's, but they only come in a 225/40/18. Think it's okay to run those on our stock STI wheels? |

I was thinking that 17x7 with taller skinnier snow tires would make more sense. That's what we did on wife's last two STi's.
I was hoping that the factory accessory black, 15 spoke 17 inch rims would work but SoC says no, (according to the parts guy at my local dealer). So now I'm on the hunt for rims off of a 2017 Inazuma, (series yellow) or a 2018 Sport Tech RS. I know those fit over the Brembos! |

Yea I don't believe the the factory accessory ones clear the Brembo's...ones do exist, but I believe they are limited to Japanese market and cost a pretty penny to get over here. |

Taller so that 17 inch tire will be close to the same diameter, (rolling circumference) as the 18 inch OEM tire. Narrower so the tire will cut through the snow/slush better. Fat tires tend to “float” on top of the snow. It’s sort of like aquaplaning but with that white stuff instead of water between the tires and the road surface.

Youngest Owner
1) Khiem Nguyen IG: KxngAzn
2) 0590 3) World Rally Blue 4) Georgia 5) I am only 15 years old, but I have always been influenced by the car scene and have always been interested in the BRZ when it first came out. So with much hard work, I was able to make a large down payment on the tS with my dad pitching in about 25%. I plan to keep it stock because I already have a project car (a 2000 s2k) and try to keep it stock as long as I can. |

I'll have to search through to find the areas that pertain to the tS model. Anyone have a copy they could photograph or scan for me? This is what came today. Notice the Warranty/Maintenance booklet is dated 2015. Hmmmm???? |

Nice meeting you all!
1) Mark 2) 0790 3) Cyrstal White 4) California Bay Area 5) Previously leased a '16 BRZ Limited and had so much fun, bought this tS so i can keep it for long. Before that I had RX-7 FC and Lexus ISF. Still in break-in so can't say too much about the differences between a '16 Limited on track. Plan to keep it stock for 2 years then start from wheels + suspension -> exhaust -> lightweight. At the moment I am thinking to keep the engine stock but it may change .

1) Andy Chambers
2) 0563 3) WRB 4) TX, but bought in FL 5) I was planning to buy a 17 PP in CWP, but while Google violating the internet, came across press releases and reviews talking about the tS and how it needs this and it needs that, and I thought, they were right. They should absolutely buy one, and do whatever they think it should have, meanwhile, I'm going to enjoy mine with a Delicious Tune ASAP, until it gets either JDM STI or Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs, and associated arms and rods for proper alignment. Santa is going to bring me Ace headers (update the tune), if that's not fun enough, then eventually an Edelbrock SC, with Jackson Racing Radiator/Oil Cooler (with an updated tune). Honestly, even if I don't FI it, I'll still probably get the radiator, for peace of mind. I park pretty hard. I'll let that sink in. Except for when I'll be driving thru the Texas Hill Country, maybe look into some AutoX or track days. I used to track sport bikes, but they need to be parked once in a while too. But it's hard to get that kind of camber on a motorcycle without seriously endangering your life on your way to the parking event. I'm bored, can you tell? Seriously, just going stir crazy because I'm waiting for some paint work to get fixed, and they can't do it while it's raining. So I wait. Looking forward to learning from you guys. Especially the finer points of hard parking. |
