As others have suggested, take the PTO. Time is something you can never get back.

Are we talking about the same machine (an MRI)?

If so, maybe the one that did your MRI had a bad TOB -

Well, that's a darn shame.

Haha it's actually interesting to think about prime age. I watch quite a bit of baseball, and for the most part a player's prime is like maybe 25-29ish? Give or take a year or two depending on skill and athleticism.

But I lack both.

Haha, baby is coming up on 10 mos now. This is my second and she was born last Dec and my company implemented the PTO policy change in Jan, so I couldn't have kept "saving" my PTO until when I took paternity leave later around April. I still took 3 mos off tho (max here in CA) since I enjoyed that time with my first.

The older I get, the less I care about work, just a means to an end.

Having a disappointing first time experience ordering tires through TireRack. So one of my buddies lives in a special residence for his occupation, and he has a garage so he offered to accept the delivery of my new tires and store them till my appointment for mount/install.

So over the weekend I order the tires. In the billing address section I used my info, but for shipping I directly copy pasted my buddy's info, including his name (even though the signature isn't required, for his residence his name needs to be on it so they know where to direct it).

So today I find out when I submitted the order the other day, the delivery address name section was (supposedly) blank, so their system automatically chose to put my name from the billing address without confirming with me if that was correct. Today the shipment went out, and my name is on the tire packages or whatever. So it's quite possible the shipment will be rejected.

I called them up and they insisted it's my fault that I left the name spot blank, that there isn't any issue with their system automatically using a name on the billing section despite the shipping address being completely different. Best they can do is try calling UPS (though the order confirmation shows the packages shipped with Ontrac) in the morning tomorrow to see if they can change the name.

Other than that it's my fault and that's it.

Would've liked them to not place blame on me and say it's impossible for there to be a bug in their ordering system. Even if the company insists it's the fault of the customer, it'd be nice if they offer to try to work together to correct the error rather than outright placing blame.

I had to be like "well, I'm a software engineer. I know even polished systems can have bugs sometimes." And even then, the CS person was reluctant to say their website might have an issue.

I was pretty reckless in my mid-20s, so most of the stories I "remember" of when I was 26 are because they were told to me the next morning. Sometimes afternoon.

Fer sure fer sure.

Most of the time I enjoyed my work, but not as much as my time off. -

Speaking of working, today ma-ma and pa-pa have the day off. Our daughter has a day off from work - soooo, this will be three days straight without granddaughters. However, this evening, they will drop off the three little whirlwinds here, while they go to their Yoga session - to relax - from their kids - that they dropped off here -

Well, I hope you get your tires.

Maybe the "copy and paste" didn't take on their site -

It did because they got the correct address. The CS person over the phone said I left the name part blank on the shipping address section.

I may be stupid sometimes and miss stuff but if I’m paying enough attention to copy and paste a specific address and double checking the spelling of my buddy’s name then I don’t think it’s me :/.

Thanks me too.

Idk, my first song in one was Thunderstruck. The sound of the MRI just added to the beat. After that I just focused on the music. I was very comfortable.
