Absolutely. Preasure Gauges, PLCs, HMIs, Valves, actuators, etc. Can be used in all sorts of applications and they're not cheap of the shelf.

Many of our machines are so old that the only place we can buy parts is on Ebay. There are frequently whole machines for sale at dirt cheap prices. Like I said the shipping kills the deal though.

We buy parts from this vendor almost every week.
https://www.ebay.com/str/steelcoastt...company?_pgn=2

It is also the only place we can get such things as boards for our PLCs.

It may be the rum talking but...

In IT I've learned that there is a particular type of non-IT employee who is rather annoying. This is the person who reads some random cnet article on quantum computing and then suddenly thinks that they're an expert on all things computer. They then call random people in IT asking obscure questions that are completely irrelevant, and determine that they're better than everyone else because they know the answer while the person they call doesn't. I usually refer to these people as those who "don't even know enough to know how little they know." Sovereign Citizens are like that, but with laws and politics. It often doesn't end well for them. While most IT people are both overworked and unarmed, cops have tasers.

We all have that in our trade. I spend about an hour a week debunking safety or environmental concerns brought to me by people that start their complaint with "I read an article on Face book that says XXX is killing me".

Good point. Seriously, though, when was the last time the filters were changed on the HVAC?

I read this article on WebMD that said that mold from work AC can give me cancer. Although it may just be stress. Possibly mononucleosis.

Got rear ended today. Not a simple 2 car wreck, but 4 cars wrecks. I think, that’s a rec in my book. this is 2nd rear ended in my BRZ. Am I upset? Lil bit... am I think it’s a “curse”? Far from it. Just a youngster wasn’t pay attention and hit the front car, which hit my car and my car pushed the car in the front. No one was injured and still driveable, so I’m good. Annoyed a bit, but I’ll get over it.

That really really sucks! It's great no one was hurt, but that doesn't help un-wrinkle / undent your car. I hope your insurance claim process goes smoothly. Damn distacted drivers! Now I'm a little anoyed... and I never met the kid.

Hopefully your cars not too buggared. I got rear ended once, my wrists hurt from gripping the wheel so hard.

How fast was traffic/ were you going?
