Barely back from the garage, accident again!
Hey guys! Read someone's post earlier on this forum "Guess our cars are cursed" and now I truly believe that!
I barely got the car back earlier this month after an accident and got in to another one. Rear ended a Honda Accord whilst merging lanes. Speeds were low, not more than 20mph. His bumper had only scratches with no such dents but my front end seems to have taken the better part of the hit. Pretty much seems to be cosmetic again, however I am taking to one my insurers approved garages. The bumper seems to be the only thing that would be repaired for sure, the hood cover and under the hood seems to be fine. But still, anything particular to be aware of (radiator support, etc.) just to ensure the garage doesnt skimp on anything? |

Sorry to see this, merging is often the hardest thing for new drivers to learn.
Always look ahead before you accelerate! You could always remove the bumper cover and try to push out the dent, hot water or a heat gun may help as well.

The guy driving the Honda was a weaving in and out of traffic moments earlier. Apparently he had merged in the lane moments before me and he slammed his brakes as soon as I entered. I was pretty sure I would stop in time but thump! I really thought maybe it would just be a minor ding but got out to this. Luckily, god bless him, he admitted his mistake and reported himself as fault to the police. So I am getting it covered under insurance being not at fault. What would you suggest, better to take it to the garage and get it pulled and probably repainted / retouched for the dings rather than try the hot water, eh?! |

I agree 100%. If this was my car: I would remove the bumper. Then very gradually heat the area, being careful to not over heat the paint or to stay on one area with the heat gun too long. Carefully push the dent out. Reinstall the bumper, wash / buff, and it's done! OP, Will it look 100% perfect, no. But from how it looks in your pictures, and from my experiences with doing this to my bumpers, I think your bumper would turn out OK using this method.
