Just replaced mine without lifting the engine. Yeah, proper tools, extra patience (required beers) and a creative mind haha. Easiest way to remove/insert the spark plugs is with a DIY magnetic stick bent 90 degree.

You could go Edelbrock .. what was it .. 100k warranty from them? I'd trust their work the most since companies like Lotus go to them for superchargers.

Yeah I'm going to take a look at the manual because I would assume the AT vacuum pump is on a different vacuum system than the brake booster is.

Edelbrock's warranty is extremely conditional, only lasts for 3 years from new or 36k miles from new when installed by an Edelbrock certified mechanic.

OP's car doesn't qualify for Edelbrock's engine warranty at all, the blower probably has a good warranty on it, but that's not the issue.

If I'm understanding correctly it wont be plugged in or going to anything at all. So...... it wont be doing anything except being a potential issue.

It is for the brake booster. He would need the extra tubes and a check valve or whatever...

Alright so engine is in and running...for now. Might go for a rip here in a bit.

Hopefully that extra vacuum pump causes another issue and I get another motor lol

Any benefit to having it installed or removing it?

Thanks!
Dang. I've had mine boosted for over 30k miles with flex fuel and now just got Nitrous and knock on wood no issues.

I know nothing about how the AT works so excuse my ignorance. I am guessing they use vacuum to shift and can't rely on the vacuum generated by the engine because under load the vacuum is too low to shift which would necessitate a dedicated pump. So are you saying the pump is creating a vacuum on the same system as the rest of the car?

It's even dumber than that. It's connected between the brake booster and intake manifold to stabilize the vacuum some driving situations. I couldn't really figure it out from the descriptions in the service and what's-new manuals.

Update

Car is running. Still slow as ****, can't believe I bought one of these...

Curious to see the long term effects of keeping that vacuum pump installed...if I keep it
