Oh...and totally ignore the prices Canadians may put up there unless you are another Canadian. We pay more.
Might as well have people post a breakdown of the charges, otherwise you are misled by high fees...for example paying $1 for the car and $26k in fees, 😊

Destination & Delivery: $820
MSRP (total; i.e. $25,495 base + above options/delivery): $26,741
Price Paid (out the door including ~6% sales tax, tags, misc fees, etc.): $26,400
Dealership/Geographical Area: Subaru of Pembroke Pines, Pembroke Pines FL (if in SE Florida I highly recommend this dealership)
I bought mine from the same dealer about a month ago
BTW did they charge you extra for the tag? They wanted an extra $42 when I went to get the tag, I had to argue that we had a deal for out the door price that covered the tag. They tried to claim they didn't control DMV charges etc. My guess is that they allocate less than is needed to cover tag fees and try to get buyers to cover the difference. They quoted me a number with $200 allocated to tag. But after final paperwork they put $100. And wanted me to cover the rest. They finally waved it since I was being firm.

That is what I said. If you paid a dollar for the car say it costs a dollar. The rest of the fees are meaningless unless somebody is in the same state, county and city since they could vary dramatically. Even the actual sale price can mean little across different regions.

Is it safe to assume that the fees will not vary dealer to dealer even in the same location? last time i bought a car

..................2015 CRV....................2009 VW - ......................2017subaru
dealer fees...689..............delivery fees....$699................799.00 + etag fee 499???
for battery,. 1.50...................................$1.50...... ...........1.50
tire fee...........5................................... . $5....................5
lemon law........0.................................., $2....................2
tag................85 +agency 15................$123.00 ...............100 + private tag agency fee 20
registration 82.35
tax.................6.21%......................... ..6.26%...................wrote 7% but math says 6.20%
total fees w/o tax 877.85..................... 830.50..................1426.5

If dealers can sneak fees here and there then as you see above there's a $500 difference. If these fees are universal across dealers now then I see your point.

Keep in mind that subaru wanted to charge me $42 at the time i went to pickup tag a month later, claiming that they don't control DMV fees etc. so if i had paid that, that would have been another hidden fee. I faught that fee and they wavied it.

It's about time I get myself into a BRZ. It's been a long time in the making...

So my current best offer is:

2018 WRB BRZ Limited with performance package, mirror compass/homelink, cargo tray, rear bumper applique

MSRP: $31,206
Dealership price: $27,500 before TTL

What do you guys think of the offer? I was initially shopping for it at $27,000...I am located in SoCal

What does edmund.com say it's TMV?
What's the breakdown of the TTL, as I mentioned above the Subaru dealer added $500 in fees that I have never paid before, but I didn't mind because I dealt in Out The Door price. I recommend you get all the numbers.

Purchased : March 2018

Model year : 2017

Trim : Limited w/ PP

Type of Purchase : Finance

Color: Crystal white pearl

Upgrades/Options : Performance Package, Popular Package #3

MSRP : $30,182

Price Paid (before TTL) : $26,085

OTD: $28,321.96

Dealership/Geographical Area : Naperville, IL

Just emailed 4 dealerships and sent to each other their OTD offer and asked who can give the lowest one after they battled it out for 2 weeks. It was very entertaining reading their replies to each other. I still think I could've gotten $27,500 OTD but I wanted to have the car right away.

I am curious, why do you guys buy 2017 model when 2018 models are available at the same price? I bought tS for 30K.

1) I bought an auto, so I would not have been able to get a tS anyway.
2) The tS was not yet released at the time I purchased
3) I purchased a car that was already on the lot, and because of this received a significant discount off MSRP for a car that had only 7 miles on the odo (2 of which were me test driving it).
