Put it back up on stands to check for leaks since it's been ~5 days since I finished installing my transmission cooler. Everything looked alright, although I did see one area where some ATF was at. I'm not sure I forgot to wipe it down, but enough wasn't present to represent a leak. I'll be going on track next Saturday for the first time with the transmission cooler and will of course do a post-track inspection as well, so we'll see soon enough.

Tried to make a deal for an Inazuma at my local Subaru store. It wasn't going to happen at my numbers.

I made a deal over the phone for one at a dealer that's about 1 1/2 hours away. Salesman got the OK and said the Sales Manager would do up the paper work before going home. When I called the next morning the price had gone up and the salesman didn't know why. He said he'd talk to the Sales Manager when he got in. I replied that I'd call back later to verify the numbers and/or the reason why the price had gone up. When I did phone back the salesman informed me that they'd sold the car just after I hung up.

I went back to my local dealer who, after much haggling, agreed to my numbers. That was March 26, 2017. I was to take delivery the first week of April but, the weather was lousy. They agreed to let me take delivery on Saturday April 8, 2017.

I was terminated without cause and without notice from my job of 34 years at quitting time on Thursday April 6, 2017. No job meant that the finance agreement was not valid and the deal fell apart.

It's taken until now for me to get my house back in order.
(Don't get me started on those crooked bankers and their money schemes...)

Used a pre-stitched cover from ebay, from a wrx or something. then used recycled leather for the bottom. wood for the base, and mix of high density and low density foam, first time doing this sort of thing, it was fun and a learning experience.

If the top layer of foam is memory foam it feels as if your elbow is resting on Dolly Parton's....... It is better described as mammary foam.

Played phone tag with the salesman and the finance manager most of the day. Finally got confirmation that the deal is done and delivery is set for Thursday at 5:00 p.m.

Thanks, I really struggled with this purchase. This car wasn't my first choice and I didn't get as good a deal as I was hoping for. But, after the year I've had my wife said, "GO for it!" So I did.


First up is a front license plate relocation mount. I'm just not sure which one to get. (I specified that they not drill the front bumper.)


I'm looking for a detail shop that does paint repair and perhaps even go for a sealant. Or at least cover the main areas with 3M or similar. I've had black cars in the past that showed every swipe and swirl.


I want to drive the car some before I decide on if I really need a short throw shifter. However, I will be ordering an accelerator pedal bracket to move it closer to the brake. With my street shoes I think I will just be able to brake and blip. I don't think it'll be as easy with my racing shoes on.


Although I want to keep my 2006 STi for my winter car I will get a second set of rims with proper snows for those sunny days. Also, my insurance company charges more if you don't have snow tires.


Exhaust is on the list too but... it's not a priority. I'll probably wait until at least after the break in period before I switch it out. hehehe

Got my OFT setup with my Autocross LC tune, a popcorn tune for exhaust comps, and my backup 93oct tune. e85 is noice. No more torque dip!

I had the exact same ones. Great billet spacers but BEWARE the lugs will strip like butter if you use anything but a 6-point socket.
