obligatory new post--
picked up a leftover 2017 86, love it, have some ideas for plans but want to drive it for a while first to get a feel for the car before deciding which direction i want to go in. used to drive/build/drag race classics, but this is an adventure i've been looking forward to for a while. |

I was a Slant Sixer, nothing big or fancy. Had over the years: two '65 Dodge Darts (one 4-door, one 2-door), a '77 Plymouth Volare 2-door, and a '67 Dart, that one was 3-on-the-tree fun, the others automatics. All slightly different builds. Raced one Dart and the Volare for a bit. Also had a '59 Studebaker Lark VIII for a minute, but it needed too much work for me to handle at the time so traded it on... snagged a '75 Dart Hang 10 rolling chassis but had to sell that before I got into it when I moved east. Slants are fun engines, I liked the build varieties and experimentation that went into them. What about you? |

Was always a fan of the slant six since it was virtually indestructible no matter what you did to it.

SoCal or NorCal
Im stuck in the middle xD
Hi, im new to this forum and as of April this year im a proud owner of a 13' Fr-s Raven. Living in Bakersfield, Ca. and not knowing which section would fit for me in Cali, seeing as both require min hour and half drive for most posts by other users >.<

Bought a 2013 FRS a couple of months ago. Looking forward to getting my build started. Should be a lot of fun to make it uniquely mine.

Can attest to the slant being indestructible, given my own experiences and the stories I heard from others when I brought one to a show or the track.

I've been reading through this site for the past two years while debating on buying one one of these. I DD a 99 sport Miata that I've almost entirely rebuilt. It is now going to be saved as my classic/autocross car that will get a supercharger soon. Before the Miata I had an 84 50th anniversary Datsun 300zx turbo, totaled by a 75 year old woman tboned me. A 94 Miata pretty much all stock that I really learned how to drive and autocross with and last but not least a 68 SS Camaro that I sold when younger to fund college and housing for myself. So now I have a 2015 frs with 22k miles. The car is very clean and came with the trd sway bars and trd intake installed from the factory as well. Looking forward to a simple n/a build for these amazing Virginia foothill roads.

![]() Noob with a 2013 Whiteout FR-S AT Don't even have a tag/title yet...third owner...lady driven from 2012 til April 2018...the second owner a young man who purchased it got a rude awakening from his insurance company...paying more in insurance than his car payment...so...he was happy to make an exit...but, 19 year olds, paper work and banks sending titles seem to move at a snails pace... What little I've driven the car...wow...this is a six year old stock car...and even with worn out tires it's a blast...yes my son's G37 from a dead start will most likely leave me in his dust...I got $6K cash and an extra 10mpg every fill up in my pocket. And Clean inside, out and under the hood...no curb rash on the stock mag wheels...I see one dent over the passenger front wheel...hard to believe it has ever seen a mall or grocery store parking lot six years down the road... |
