I enjoy Doug Demuro a good chunk of the time but this is a hilariously sad "review" from him.
As far as I can tell his "test drive" is on normal city streets (he doesn't show a POV angle, only a vlogger angle). Of course it's going to get the usual "lack of power" complaint on normal streets, especially when he just drove a Chiron or whatever a couple weeks ago on the same types of roads, lol. So disappointing.

So did you ask him if he actually worked at Porsche Corporate or just at a random Porsche dealer?

Yeah, I know that and he’s very subjective. I just hope sometimes rather than comparing an apple to an orange he would try to think of them objectively and holistically.

I gave him directions to an awesome twisty mountain road not to far from where he did the review but I guess he didn’t take them. For his Doug score for practicality I think all of us agree this probably the most practical 2 door sports coupe on the market and should have at least gotten a 6/10 practicality score.

I've known Doug for quite some time before his automotive journalism career -- we've done a lot of car spotting back in our college days, and he's an absolute gearhead in-person. I've offered him my Series.Yellow to review while it was still stock, but he wasn't passing thru Atlanta anytime soon.

This car doesn't do anything more or less practical than any other 2 door sports coupe out there. Anything bigger would likely be more practical (more space). Anything smaller would actually be a 2 seater. and less practical. |

I understand where he's coming from, living in south Florida. I drove a stocker recently and was kinda shocked as I've gotten used to e85/header combo in mine.

Truth is we don’t need good reviews to justify our purchase. The car is a fun, no doubt about it. Yeah it’s under powered, but with a header and tune it’s a blast. Besides this car is made for turns not straights. This thing is not practical in any way, except folded down rear seats helps a little but that trunk opening is tight. I did not buy mine for practicality.

Doug, like most other automotive "journalists" out there, is HP spoiled.

I'm not sure how being able to easily fit a 43 inch tv in an even larger box, through the trunk opening, and having space for at least 3 more of the same box, plus accessories isn't practical. Or being able to fit multiple pieces of luggage for a trip (maybe not all hard suitcases, but large duffels, backpacks, smaller containers, etc.). Or go to Costco for a bulk items run. It's not practical for a family. It's not practical if you're always ferrying friends/family/coworkers from one place to another given it only has room realistically for two. It's not practical if you want to uber/lyft (not that it'd be allowed to, being a 2 door but you get the idea). I'd say being able to do all of those things and more for 25mpg minimum on a stock tune is pretty damn practical. I grew up in the 90s and I still played Tetris a bunch. Makes me wonder if owners/potential owners of the twins really just need a fucking Tetris education. I'm not even kidding. Anyway, I digress.
