I know you were semi joking but get sick of the constant slamming of guys that are simple business owners trying to make a living. My wife has worked for dealers for 30 years and I do not think she or any of the people she worked for met any of your descriptions. Sure there are some that meet the description but they don't last long. Our local Mitsubishi dealer was bought by a guy that tried to run it like the perpetuated stereotype and it lasted all of 4 years before people stopped going there and they sold to somebody that had the brains to do it right. If every single interaction you have had with a dealer has been bad then maybe, just maybe, the dealerships are not the problem.

I've had business with nightmarish dealerships and really, really good ones.
So now I do my research. I ask around. Like I did before I bought my GT86. No one had any complaints about the place, and I don't either. They contacted me and said "Hey, your 5 year warranty is about to expire, let us go over the car for you and see if there's anything we can fix for you for free". They changed a seat cover and a few other minor parts, gave it back to me with a smile and said "this is a really good car, hope you intend to keep it!". It all comes down to the people, really. The dealerships with the best and worst reputations I know of in Norway, are both Subaru. |

I enjoy when the director send out his "work" blog with sugar coated annual statistics. Especially when it's color coating it in a wrong color to make it look "good", even though it's suppose to be "bad".
Example. '16-'17 we've dropped 10% patrons w charges. (compared to '15-'16) Which is good thing, cuz that means less patron fucked up in '16-'17... vs '17-'18 it increased to 31%. (compared to '16-'17) BUT somehow they colored it "green" to make it look as a good thing. & sadly, half of the statistics were like that... #SMH |

Sort of related, recent conversation with a coworker:
Coworker: "So I was reading a story online, and scientific research has now proven that when you multitask, efficiency on a task is lowered by 40% and IQ is lowered by 10%." Me: "So if you think about it, the minimum for multitasking is completing two tasks at once, so you have 200% of the work at 60% capacity for each, or 10% additional output per task, for 20% total increase in efficiency." C: "However you want to spin it." M: "That's not spinning, that's just mathematics, no?" C: "Enjoy the rest of your day." Side note: I get annoyed by people who quote statistics from Facebook articles with neither checking nor really thinking about what they're saying. |
