Nope. Stock power is just fine for the track and canyons in my opinion.

Dude, you really need to turbo it or else the car is worthless. My S13 with an SR swap could destroy your car

I've also got an S13 with an SR swap.

Cool! I want to swap out the SR though because it's so unreliable. I'd show you mine, but I can't because it's down due to engine problems

Really? I've never had a single problem with mine.

Oh yeah, how much boost are you running

*Makes direct eye contact* "Stock."
you could have probably made a quip that his S13 is useless since its engine is busted and its just sitting in the garage collecting dust, while your BRZ is out and about slowly canyon carving lol.

After I told him their work didn't resolve the issue he had egg on his face and they wouldn't get the job done. I had to go to another dealer, who called in the field engineer. He said it needed a new tranny. They replaced it. Problem solved.
Drifting is hard on the tranny. Prolly shouldn't do that.

"Yes" "Not very."

"Thats nice. Yeah, my engine is stock."

"You should turbo it. The stock engine is weeeeeak!!!!"

Guy stops talking and walks away.
I had the exact 1st conversation with an old guy who was wiping down his Mustang in a parking lot yesterday.

240sx owners are the worst. (I should know, I was one)

My SR20 was pretty reliable too though! Never had any issues.

Just got back from a two week road trip to Maine. Toured through ten states between NC and ME, and people admired the BRZ on a daily basis, all of them positive and wondering what planet it's from. Even paced a 370Z for 100 miles through West Virginia, pushing SUVs aside for each other. We were driver and passenger, fully loaded, doing 75 most of the time, with the AC running. Got an average 34 mpg. One trucker asked if it was 4WD, and laughed knowingly when I answered, "Two, rear, it's a real sports car."

Which brings me to my technical observation for the day. I have been using ethanol-free gasoline this summer to see how the car likes it, and the answer is he loves it. There's a slightly throatier purr to the engine and exhaust, a little more push in the throttle, and about 2mpg increase in efficiency. Most guys say the differences are imperceptible, but as I had to compromise a couple of times when I couldn't find E0 93, like ANYWHERE in NY, I was able to observe the changes in quick succession. Bottom line, I like it. Oh, and with E0 93, NO CRICKETS!

Of course, we're fortunate in NC to have an oil company who is proud to feature E0 93 on every pump they have, and there are 75 stations across the state. And, they give up to 10¢ a gallon discout if you get their card attached to your debit card.
Elsewhere, I have found that many retailers say they have E0 93 and it turns out to be racing fuel in cans at scary prices, but no pumps. On the other hand, gas stations near lakes and marinas will sometimes pump the good stuff for power boats which have tanks which need filling like cars. But, don't try small airports, cuz planes sometimes take fuel with some lead, and they won't fill your car with anything, anyway. This is my total wisdom gleaned from www.pure-gas.org.

Anyone have ideas to add?

Last week I took my BRZ to one of those conveyor car washes.
Two little girls around five or six ran up to the window to watch the cars go through.
When mine shows up, they both go "OOOOOHHHH."

girl 1: "Look at how cool that car is!"

girl 2: "It's so cool!"

girl 1: "When I get a car, it's going to be cool like that one!."

girl 2: "Me too, it's so cool!."

girl 1: "MOM! COME HERE! Look at that car, it's so cool!"

Mom (who drives an Audi Q7.) "Yes honey, it's cool."

girl 1: "Why don't you drive a cool car, you should."

Mom: "My car is very cool."

girl 2 : "No it's not, your car is BORING."

girl 1 : "When I get a car, it'll be cool like that one, not like yours."

Mom: "I don't have a cool car because I had TWO KIDS, and needed room for them!"

girl 2: "Well, you made a MISTAKE."

girl 1: "I'm never having kids then, I'm having cool cars instead."

Was looking for a spot in a touristy spot’s parking lot the other day. Pass by a group of guys going 5mph or so and suddenly one of them says loudly through my open window “I love your car bro! Looks awesome!”

Thirty minutes later my battery completely died. Like, died so badly that even in ACC mode the headunit would just flicker and neither the USB port nor the cigarette lighter power plug would feed juice.

I’d rather people keep comments about my car to themselves from now on .

I take this back.

I was leaving the dealer earlier and as I was about to hop in the car, a kid, probably early teens, was with his mom. They wanted to take pics of the car, and they asked a bunch of questions.

They both really liked my car, wanted to know if it was stick shift. Kid said I have a "dope" car.
