Some member reporting an absolutely pointless thing. It’s okay for that member to call someone “lazy”, but it’s not okay to get called “snowflake”...
Does he know both are name calling? If you gonna dish it out, gotta take it too. & no, I’m not gonna delete it cuz it’s my entertainment for this wk. I’ll shall wait for some “group” flaming this forum, which suppose to happen aka threatening me, other mods & admin. At least his forum gets busy for a bit til see how pointless it is for me to come & flame. lol |

Lazy is not the same class of name calling. Dunno. I think it falls into a category with a lot of things people say without realizing how bad they can be... Like "no can do" or "peanut gallery" or one of many other common phrases...

My original post that started all this was a straight forward commentary on my feelings about warranty fraud. The other person had made several threads about running E85 without a flex fuel kit and then wanted to know how to circumvent the system in case of failure. I said - Originally Posted by Tcoat Most dealers are not lazy nor wish to deny warranty work and do indeed do warranty work everyday without question or hassle. They do however need to protect themselves and their other customers from people that will indeed defraud them. The reason they are suspicious is that people try to pull that crap all the time. If you feel you need to change a car back to get warranty work then you also know that those mods could get you denied. Changing it back and then saying "I don't know it just stopped working" is a decision to defraud. If you mod your car then you accepted the risk that something would break and not be covered by warranty. If you think otherwise your sense of entitlement is outstanding. You want warranty don't change things that could impact it. You want to mod then man up and accept you may be denied. Warranty costs get built into the price of cars and we all end up paying for them in the end. I don't mind paying for legit claims but I will be damned if I want to pay for some entitled snowflake that blew his engine up with a bad tune and then felt it should be replaced under warranty. Now, at no point there am I specifying that individual. The use of the word "you" is used to the audience in general and not singling out anybody. I used the term "snowflake" in it's common colloquial form to describe a person that feels they are special or unique and situations should not apply to them. It was not name calling nor even directed at any individual and sure as hell was not a reference to any person's sexual orientation. In response I am told that I am somehow gay bashing and the reason the internet sucks. I in turn state that I had no clue of the use of the term in that manner and point out that the response that had been made did indeed meet the most common definition of the term. Still no name calling was done. Now a response is made where I am called a bigot for my attitude on gays (I have never made a statement about gays in that or any other thread), told that I am a liar because I said I didn't know there was such a rare and obscure definition and told that I am not following the rules in such a manner that breaks all the rules. Hypocrisy at it's finest and my response is in the thread.

Half of what we say could be traced back to a point where it was indeed offensive so where do we draw the line in using old phrases? Things can be taken way to far. I would sit here and shut my mouth but that may offend somebody. OH and the little piggy that "went to market" was NOT going shopping.
