Hmm it's tempting. I plan to go to Simply Clean 10 this year. It'll be my second show if I get in. Was fortunate enough to get into the first FL Stancenation show last year, and my car is pretty basic lol.

@Raven86Project I'm applying for SC10 today. Show is on 11/10/18 in Daytona. Would be cool to meet up if you're interested in going.

And it finally happened!
Loving the performance, sound and looks! Don't want to get much into the power yet as I'm running a base turbo map. Can't wait for my final tune and dyno!

BTW, HKS Boxer-spec headers are now for sale. Will post in the FOR SALE thread soon!

Great turbo kit! I’ve been searching for information on the hks kit but there isn’t too much info out there so do you mind if I ask you a few questions?

Did you have to run different radiator fans to clear the kit?

Are you able to utilise the standard front crash bar or is aftermarket the only option?

I know you are only on a base map for now but do you have an idea from what rpm the boost actually kicks in? And do you have an idea on what sort of maximum boost the turbo can handle before it reaches its efficiency limit?

The symmetry of the tubing going through the front to your intercooler is beautiful!

Very cool set up! I'm excited to follow and see how things go
How was the installation?

The fitment of the HKS is great (if you are not adding aftermarket components from different companies). The technician had to do some cutting and welding in order to make the HKS kit, JDL shroud, Jackson Racing radiator (for aftermarket fans) and Drift Armor bar (fabrication was done in order to supports the intercooler) work. He made everything work in a very tight space and it looks super clean.

1-As a measure of caution, yes, we ran a slimmer fan kit. I was told the stock ones could get melted.

2-You can use the OEM crash bar but it has to be cut in order to fit the intercooler and would lose all strength. So, in a case of a light front collision I wouldn't want to damage my precious intercooler.

3-Boost starts at around 3k rpm and kicks really hard at 5k.

4-Maximum boost for this turbo is 14.5psi (recommended for a built motor). I'll be running two maps, 7 and 11psi (which is what HKS recommends as the highest boost for a stock motor)

Such a good looking kit... Added the HKS metal oil cap for more bling.

Back in the 80's and 90's it was very common for JDM car manufacturers to place big stickers on their performance special editions in order to make a statement. I loved that fact! So here is my take to revive that spirit!
