Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Most modern straight 4 or 6 engines just look like boxes and there is so much other stuff that has to be crammed in there it doesn't matter anyway.

To me nothing will ever approach the beauty of a big block dodge power plant. A work of art in it's simplicity and no extra crap crammed in there so you can change just about any moving part right in the bay.

@Tcoat, along those lines, the 1964 Galaxy 500XL factory option dual-quad 427 was impressive. Rated 425 hp but said to produce well above that. My older brother owned one, an M/T convertible that he let me drive. All it wanted to do was spin it's skinny bias ply tires at any speed. He also kept a fire extinguisher handy and the hood up for cold start easy access just in case.

Coolest looking engines? Who comes up with this crap? Engines are not for looking good. Engines are for producing power. I don't care at all how my engine looks. I care how it performs.

If that's you in your profile picture, that's exactly the type of person I'd expect to say that

A Tesla? I think you mean quickest car you have ever been in. Meaning, acceleration not over all top speed.
"Quick" is used to describe the quality of an action that is short and powerful, e.g. a "quick head-fake".
"Fast" is generally used to describe actions that are more sustained, e.g. "a fast sprint down the field".

LOL. Yes, it is me. From almost 20 years ago. I had the lamb chops for about two hours of my life. People that meet me after seeing that picture sometimes ask me who the guy is in the picture, as I look nothing like that. I'm a pretty clean-cut guy that is 6'3" and weigh 165 pounds.
What do they say about judging a book by its cover? Oh yeah...
