It doesn't look like the visor would cover it from being seen, just shade it.

Bump for pic...
I recently bought and installed this. Love it! Great replacement for the cheesy OEM third brake light. Plus, the original one no longer blocks my view since I was able to remove it too. GLWS!!! Here's a crappy photo of it on my BRZ:
