Ahh, I see, you're just accusing me lying because I said I kept up, gotcha. I'm not gonna waste my time trying to convince you that, "No really, I won, I swear!" lol. That isn't why I posted what I did. I wasn't trying to brag, I was just sharing a story about accepting the "Come Race Me Bro" encounter I had. You can choose to believe me, and we can argue about whether or not I should've posted the story, or you can choose to believe that I'm some insecure teenager looking to start a d*ck waving contest about beating a motorcycle lol.

A bunch of hypocrites on here. You all mean at no point ever in your entire life someone came up on you and revved and you didn't push your car harder? You guys are going way over the top bashing qcbaker over his story. A situation all of us have been in and had an open road to have a little fun.

Next time you drive 10mph over the speed limit look at yourself in the mirror and realize you are a major threat and danger to our society and turn yourself in.

I'm going by the vans I see the most of:

The 2017 Sienna hits 0-60 in 6.8s; the 2018 Odyssey does it in 6.9s.
The Pacifica does 7.2.

Splitting hairs, but the point is, beating a minivan in the Twins is not a foregone conclusion.

Only if you drive an auto!

None of those times are "6(ish)" and most certainly not "or even under"

Driving over the limit and street racing are not the same thing.
This isn't the Fast and Furious where a crash causes a cut over the eyebrow or a video game where you respawn back on the track this is real life.

No, just no. I understand that numbers say one thing but those are under perfect testing conditions.

In a real life scenarios: from a standing start: by the time the computers figured out the driver hit the gas pedal in the van, the twin will already be halfway through first gear. and the highway... wtf??? can those even downshift? No?.. then zero chance. The only minivan that will destroy a twin in every sense is the one Renault put an f1 v10 in a few years back... Now that was a machine!

Il say it again.. if ANY minivan beats you under ANY circumstances.. its you that sucks not the car.

"WE GOT ONE HERE BOB, QCBAKER CLAIMED HE MADE A HIGHWAY PULL THE OTHER DAY. BOOK 'EM BOYS."

Look, in all seriousness, I could see an argument that the site could be held liable if they were seen to be encouraging it, but they're not. Like I said to the other dude: Calm down, deputy.

It's not ridiculous or far fetched, we've seen warranty claims denied because dealers lurked on the forum to find cars being tracked and then voiding the warranty.

Also if your account name can be tied to you through some simple research, then police can easily look into you if you get caught doing something dumb in the future.

Honestly, I'd say your "real life scenario" puts us at even more of a disadvantage.
Vans have massive low-end torque and nice, meaty powerbands.
We, on the other hand, have to work to keep the engine on boil (necessitating a downshift or two). Factor in things like road surfaces, driver variability (for M/T especially), and the sprint for a Twin will likely vary much more significantly than a van.
Note that modern automatics can (and will) downshift very quickly when the driver floors it (which is all the van driver needs to do - while we may have to modulate clutch slip, find the optimal revs before dumping the clutch, etc.).

In any case, the moral of the story is, don't race a van - because what's the point?

qcbakers post never mentioned joining some underground street racing club with police scanners and walkie talkies. Just a highway pull from a roll against a sportbike. Yes not the safest thing but something most of us have done at least once in our lifetime.
