I'm just looking at this purely from a financial standpoint. Read or take a Dave Ramsey course and you will understand more of what I am thinking.

I totally agree. You can get into trouble with any car.

I'm in agreement with you. No problem. Worrying about my credit score is not something I do. Definitely more in the "Dave Ramsey" camp ("debt is dumb" and "credit score = I Debt Score") than the "do everything you can to get a perfect score" camp.

Just trying to explain that it does effect other things. The trade-off is perfectly fine with me.

In this era they are giving away new cars....people are getting them with 400 beacon scores....5 years ago they would have thrown you off the lot with that kind of score...lol

The Veloster is just plain ugly even the turbo model compared to the FR-S\BRZ\86.

But cudos to Hyundai for making a turbo version of it. It will sell. But its still not a competitor to the AS1 cars...

If you see yourself driving your buddies or your GF and her friends all around. Then the Veloster is better for you. If you're not. The FRS all the way. Nothing is going to handle like a FRS/BRZ except a Porsche, Lotus or the Prancing Horse. Maybe a Miata, but the FRS looks so much cooler and it is semi practical. I've had my FRS for 3 weeks now and I've driven over 1000 miles and half those miles on Mountain/Hilly roads. I've never had so much fun driving mountain roads until I drove the FRS and I've driven many mountain roads in my life.
The FRS is Frickin' Real Sweet!

I don't give a flying rats ass who will be driving it or what name it has on it. Yeah sure, it would be nice to say Toyota on it. I know who designed it, who made it and what it drives like. It is in my price range and it looks and drives like a classic 2+2 coupe sports car. If you are worried that it will be a chick car then don't buy it. Don't buy the BRZ either, Lesbos' drive Subaru's Also don't buy the Mustang, I see so many old grandmas driving those tractors.

Autoguides take on the VT

Quote:
An impressive machine based on all the available statistics, the Veloster Turbo is undeniably fun but fails to deliver that wow factor.

In nearly all categories, Hyundai’s value approach has allowed it to rise to the top, but not here. After all, this is a segment where value is far from being a main priority and where ‘fun-to-drive’ comes standard.

Regardless, Hyundai will sell lots of Veloster Turbos by nature of the fact that it delivers the goods on paper while in reality isn’t too hard-edged and won’t scare off the average consumer. A hot hatch for all, enthusiasts need not apply.

I think your missing the point....the fact that it wears the "Scion badge" and soon it will be lined up on the lot with the TC's,XB's..ect. As we all know Scions selling demagraphic at early to mid 20's the younger woman make more than men at this age and are more likely to be able to afford a cooler looking FRS and will prefer it to a crappy TC. so its destined to happen young women love nice looking coupes just as much as men especially when their single without kids.

At 1st i didnt care about the the Scion badge but.....and true we all really know its a Subaru/Toyota thru and thru but with the magnitude and importance of this car to enthusiast and and its heritage, it should have had a Toyota badge...just speaking my mind on this...

Get what ever car you decide.... You don't need experience to drive a car like that.... I just turned 19 last week... So I basically have only about a year and half of driving experience. The car I drive? A 2001 BMW 740il with about 300hp (was my dad's old car). I've been driving it since. As long as you drive safely there nothing to worry about. But I really want the Veloster Turbo XD
