Oh, you will get older … but maybe not old - if you don't do what I did too much of for too many years.

*drink alcohol to excess

*smoke

*eat poorly

*didn't exercise

*chase women

*be a workaholic

Yep, like the CW song goes - "faster horses, younger women, older whisky, more moneyeee"

Now, it's old cats, children and iced tea.

Now, getting injured doing childish things is not all bad -

Getting injured while just doing normal stuff .. indicates that you should think about what you are about to do, before you do it.

Examples:

Oh, don't get me started -

Reminds me of when my team was disbanded, the leaders exiled, and the rest forced into hard labor doing the crap nobody else wanted to do.

Well, that's all the inspiration I got left to give tonight. Hope it all works out for ya!

Best teams I've been on that would have failed. Every team has a strongest and a weakest. If you don't care for both, you're not building a team, you're just trying to keep a group pretending to care and pull mostly together.

If the team falls apart, it was never much of a team.

Though if the company is daft, as most seem to be these days, it'll be ruined anyway, broken up to "spread the learning" or otherwise.

Team I was on before we were bought out through shareholder treason... Weakest member is still stronger than most at the new company. And they broke the team up and lost 2/3 immediately. Very few in management understand a team isn't bought, its crafted with care... Also, that particular team was the strongest in the company - we did crazy stuff and it just seemed like a normal day.

Any team is only as good as it's leader. A team of members that are the best in the world will fail with bad leadership. A good leader can take a bunch of losers and succeed.

This too. Probably not by tossing the worst and rewarding only the best. Though this team started it's awesome when it was just 3 of us, no formal leader... Just "do what you can on your own while we search for replacements." The leader we got built on that though, and made us even stronger.

Yep, I agree, my remark was just being flippant …

I have been the successful commander/supervisor/manager/director/owner of several "teams", both military and civilian.

Now, I got to get back to "commanding" my granddaughter day care team …. wait one, where did to toddler run off to this time ?? …
