Man what is Toyota thinking...

Made cat fish front bumper even uglier with the stick on side flares. They were trying to make it resemble the original 13-16 hexagon bumper (Which was perfect); do they not have the original casts anymore!? For a "TRD" edition could they not have made a new cast and made a single piece new front bumper? Instead of a streamless single piece bumper it now looks like an old corolla with a cheap "aero" package tastelessly slapped on.

Incredibly busy rear bumper, the sharp lines around the exhaust don't match the rest of the car. TRD tramp stamp looks incredibly out of place, it should have just been a simple TRD badge on the trunk.

Random battery level indicator nike-swoosh sticker on the side of the car for no damn reason!?

18 inch wheels that exaggerate the already large stock wheel gap. Please correct me if I'm wrong but does this TRD even have the TRD lowering springs?

Neptune will be much rarer than 1,418 or so TRD SE's. According to a friend at TMNA Plano, 2019 86 production plan was cut 50%, so being generous let's guesstimate 5,000 units for North America. About 5% of 2018 production is blue so if we run that against the 5K estimate, there will be about 250 Neptunes available.

Neptunes may retain value better than the TRD SE's especially if 2019MY is the final MY of 86 v.1.0.

Is anything actually suggesting this?

If the 2.0 would come out in 2021 we would have seen test mules by now.

When Toyota is about to release a new sports car, that is Supra, they want to keep the spotlight on the new model. There will probably be nothing to be excited about 86 until at least one year after Supra.

I guess there will be always a crowd for the 86 if they keep it below 30K. Especially for those who want a good-looking sports car and is not interested whit superpower. Those looking for power can upgrade to supra

Agree, and it's true for the entire lineup of reveals staged that way like most recently Camry, Avalon, Corolla, RAV4, and Tacoma.

I still get excited whenever spying an 86 in the wild like today. Sales figures don't show it but I think 86 styling is timeless. Of course it'll take 20 more years to tell for sure, but from any angle 86/BRZ styling makes them timeless even though they're no longer the "it" car of the segment.

what segment? it doesn't really have a segment. it was either a twin or miata for me, and miatas are too damn small.

I was thinking that too, but the paint code is DAR instead of M3Y.
