So I just made my last payment and hit 50,000 miles, what's gonna be my first repair?

Had my FR-S for 5 years and just crossed 50,000 miles and made my final payment. Never had a check engine light or any of that so my question is for those who have more mileage than me, what should I prepare to repair first? Clutch, Brakes what was your first repair?

It's different for each person as each persons driving is different, therefore everyone's wear items wear differently:

I know for me I will surely be replacing the auto trans fluid, diff fluid and coolant "early" at around 50k

Sub‘ d

So did I.
I hit 50,000 today.
5 years old.

I replaced an ignition coil under warranty with a week of warranty left. Just in time.

I am also curious what the future might hold.

Edit. Although I do have the open flash header, which has not been ceramic coated or wrapped. So the excessive heat was most likely the culprit

I'm about to cross 50k too. Don't jinx me. Probably clutch kit and clutch release bearing.
Or spark plugs, regular maintenance I think at 60k.

Congratulations on getting your car paid off...

And a trouble free 50,000 miles.

Oh, from what I read on this forum, I'd guess the TOB would be the first item to need attention, figuring you have already replaced the tires.

Just drive it and save your money. Do maintenance per schedule, and fix things if they break.

I have almost 3x the mileage as you and the only repair I've done that isn't a regular maintenance item (brakes, spark plugs, etc) was the TOB at 70k. Mine is an early 2013 model and I've done around 16 track days with it.

TOB and might as well get a new clutch kit while your at it. Also good idea to consider everything on the 60k service checklist

I would replace your AT fluid before 50k. My car was shifting really hard, so I got mine done at 43k and 73k. If you drive hard, you will notice a difference.

OP, besides regular maintenance, I have not really fixed anything besides replacing coil pack #1 when it went out recently. I am at 75K. I did take the opportunity to upgrade my pads and rotors when they needed replaced.

I had my first repair at 65,000 miles. It was an engine replacement when the oil pump gear came apart, starved the engine of oil, spun two bearings and wrecked one of the heads.

Sleep well tonight.

Since it is paid off, I would start working on your 401K.

Any issues with brakes or clutch? Have Toyota do an inspection or use the maintenance guide that came with the car. Every car has something different that needs repair depending how you treat the car.

Spark Plugs

Unless you're launching hard or slipping the clutch in traffic/uphill every day the clutch should be fine. 72k on mine and it might be nearing the end of its life but I beat it up on a regular basis.
