Eventually work starts to pile up when we've all been on here way too long.

And I'm not trying to work 10 hour shifts like some on here.

I've been thinking of doing this, I'm definitely been going to do something about it cause eventually that fake vent will start to bug me. Just not exactly sure how I want the vent to look like? Either have the same outlook as current vent (but actually functional) or do something a little daring/different.

I can think of few
1. Use BRZ vent and cut out the area that suppose to be "vented"
2. Full cut out the area and use mesh

Yeah, the 1st one is what I was originally thinking of doing.
But then I wonder if I could do something more signature like for the BRZ instead. And I don't know if I'd like the mesh in place as a vent. It be much easier if I seen it photo shopped as if it was the real thing. All I could really do is work off solid works though.

If you take the whole Fender Vent piece off, do you access to the bay? Or is it sheet metal?

If we have to cut sheet metal, then it might be a bit too much work for something as simple as a vent... Although, I really want it to be semi-functional too...

Maybe I'll run a intake breather tube from it for when I drive in rivers....

Just chime in on opening the vent idea. If you cut through the sheetmetal, how are you going to solve the issue that the water/rain/snow may be getting into the engine bay area? It seems that you need some water/weather proofing pipe first to solve this issue, or maybe this is a non-issue.

Just curious.

I wanna say that its a Non-issue because water does often get in under the hood, and there shouldn't be much that it can mess up... But it would def. have to be covered properly like any other vent (Think STi Hood scoop, it has a mesh, I believe). And we also need to determine what purpose it would serve other than to save the embarrassment of being called out on your fake vent...

It would take some cutting but it certainly looks doable....
