2017 with wrong engine?

Hi everyone I'm new here and it's my 1st post.....
I'm sure I have the wrong engine in my brz.
It's a 2017 it's got the new wheels, led lights, new rear spoiler, steering wheel with controls on, traction control has track mode option, I have graph on dash showing power and torque curve, and g forces and braking. My cars manual gearbox but has the black plastic manifold not the red aluminium one ?

I see that you are located in the UK.

I am quite sure I have read that only US and Asian market cars got the upgraded manifold and some other goodies, which I can't remember from the top of my head right now.

I can say for certain that my buddy's 2017 BRZ was brand new when he bought it, but it does not have the red manifold, while having the other 2017 bits you mentioned.

Since all cars for the EU market are imported via Rotterdam/Zeebrugge, it's not a big Stretch to assume that they have the same specifications.

exactly. Toyota could not get the new engine to work within EU laws. For some reason I think it might have been a noise thing, but it was probably an emissions issue. Either way EU people don't get the cool new stuff.

If you're in England and really want just the red intake manifold, FenSport sells them.

Or you could just take it off and spray paint it red.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the two manifold options? Besides being red or black, is one plastic and the other aluminum? Are they exactly the same otherwise? Is this just marketing or is there a reason they are different?
