There are no signs of any increase in output from the current 205 hp Subaru-derived Boxer engine.
It's unanimous, nobody cares how much they sprinkle confetti on it any more, just bump the power and get it over with.

I’ve been seeing more videos that show enthusiastic people being less so with all the other options out there now. A header and a tune, from my understanding makes it just right, but you can’t do that in California. And what about options from the factory? It seems Toyubru doesn’t want to affect WRX sales, etc. Many people are skeptical about adding super chargers. They just want to buy a car off the lot and be happy with it.

Anyhow, my rant is that there are a lot of options now and the stock power doesn’t compete with cars in the same price range. Give us S2K power. More displacement? A relatively inexpensive supercharger? We have great steering response, great shifting, LSD, great handling, good weight, low COG. It’s fun as is, but put some stickier tires on it and it just needs a little more.

But owning or driving a vehicle with 'updated' emissions equipment, or lack thereof, is not. What a vehicle must have to be registered and driven is a state thing.

For those that don't want to read it, the resolutions show cases where someone was caught removing emissions equipment or specifying that someone should remove emissions equipment (or something of that nature) on a road-going vehicle. Moral of the story, smart vendors say "for track use only" or something to protect themselves.

Note, I did not see any cases where someone was penalized for not having emissions equipment. It's only a federal crime to actually remove or tamper with it.
