Fixed back Bucket Seat - brand comparison
I'm looking at FIA-approved fixed back fabric seats for my 86, and I would like to hear some educated comparisons and contrasts between the brands out there as far as cushioning comfort and design, material quality, construction quality/safety, bang for the $, overpriced, etc...
For example, i have always heard that corbeau are on the cheap side, however when looking at prices, their FIA approved seats are more expensive than Sparco's; so i'm not really sure of what brand to avoid and which one to stick to. Purpose would be for the seat to fit into a dedicated track car running on slicks, so safety is not a compromise, and the seat should hold me well. I know everyone has a different opinion, but I'd like to have some educated answer and avoid fanboys propaganda.

For Corbeau you have FX1 pro's, Sparco's you the EVO I,II or 3 seem to be popular choices. I am shopping myself so I don't have any personal experience yet.
There is also Recaro pole position and Cobra Imola pro but the price starts to go up Really interested in the Sparco QRT-R which is only 9.9lbs but don't see any reviews yet which is why im holding off on my purchase |

I ended up hesitating between a race tech and a corbeau revenge X, and took the corbeau, mostly because I'm tall and that this seat can have custom made harness holes for the shoulders. Hope I won't be disappointed.
