I'm starting to agree with you. Another person another different price... "Premium (standard + leather/heated seats) manual $38650 drive away"

Just got off the phone with the same price as this.

$37,150 drive away or $38,650 with leather

The other interesting part to the story, apparently there was a Subaru meeting yesterday. Of the 200 cars, there are ~50 left. You can pre-order today with a dealer, after that, it's closed and you will ONLY be able to order direct through Subaru on the Website, starting Monday.

Need to do the order today to secure one this year, order online and you'll get the car next year.

Demo cars arriving at dealers in a couple weeks.

The one thing I forgot to ask... Can they actually see what the current stock is?

What's the point of laying down a deposit on a specific colour/trim if it doesn't exist?

The stupid part of my brain wants to order, ORDER NOW, but wondering if it's not better to wait until things are properly confirmed and have had a test drive... Still worried about the power...

So why don't you go find a Toyota dealership and go for a drive? There must be a few that don't require a deposit.

Yeah that's what I should have done, the two local ones wanted deposits though so I didn't bother. Originally had organised to drive the BRZ this weekend then order if all ok, but that is obviously not going to happen. Oh well, we'll see.

Have you got an order in mate?

LOL. Perfect response. Anyone concerned about power has has ample opportunity to test drive the 86. Any differences due to minimal weight change and known ride settings would not be significant if power was a real issue

Don't know about down there but my two local dealers wanted a deposit.

Also I'm reluctant to waste people's valuable time (and my own) when I had no intention of buying the 86 over a BRZ.

I've got an order for a white 6MT GTS with Sept delivery. I had the chance to order a BRZ for july delivery but was scared by the "44k" price quoted.

I just got an email from another dealer saying the 37k price is correct. I told my first dealer and he said it is the retail price and doesn't include ORC. If I can pick one up for 37k this year I will certainly be tempted to swap.

EDIT: So my dealer was full of crap.

I have just had confirmation that the drive away prices are as follows:-

MANUAL STD – $37,150
AUTO STD - $39,730

MANUAL with LEATHER $38,650
AUTO with LEATHER $41,230

Pretty much right. I got my cheque back from the Subaru dealer today and he was telling me the car was going to be just over 37k drive away but it would be the premium spec.

I'm very suprised the BRZ LTD is able to undercut the GTS 86 in pricing though, considering there is only 200 of them this year - more exclusive.

I guess it's just in. The bits that are missing, mainly sat nav, mats, that's about it?

Smart move, rather use my iPhone than clunky sat nav unit from Subaru anyway.

Sounds silly, but not too upset paying more for the 86. Has much to do with the fact I want the orange (not available in BRZ).
