Grooves in brake pads need help
So I bought a 2014 brz last week with 8000 miles. Very clean car with no mods and it appears to be well taken care of however both the rear brake rotors have grooves in them. Not sure why a car with 8000 miles would have that problem. Please help

Brake rotors should never be in contact with anything therefore this shows signs of abuse, and a totaled car.

Thanks for posting the picture, however, due to the rotor being out of focus, I can't tell much.
You have several options: * quit worrying about it * if you have a warranty, take the car in and ask them to look at it * have the rear rotors turned (resurfaced) or replaced * have the brakes inspected by a brake shop * if both rear rotors look the same and the car stops good, I wouldn't worry about it humfrz |

The moment you use your brakes once there are going to be some small grooves forming. I don't see an issue. Especially if they aren't vibrating or making horrible noises. Rotors are relatively cheap too.
