Oh. Instant mpg? I can only second Tcoat that it's meaningless.
It gives you nothing in relation to how much you may need to actually fill at pump. Think of it as useless virtual unprecize number, that noone knows how it's actually measured/calculated by ecu and mostly noone also cares about it. I can get it to max out while in traffic jam. It falls to little numbers when lifting throttle while at speed. If it changes a bit .. why should one care? If you really care to compare fuel usage, i suggest to 1) reset mpg & trip A or B on dash when you fillup tank, 2) fill it full. 3) On next fuel tank visit fill it full again. 1-2 will let you get actually useful number 3 will let you get it even more precise, when you manually calculate mpg trip A distance vs how much you filled in tank till full. |

You can use the instant fuel display as a random number generator for your WEP wi-fi.

Ok guys. Let s no talk about instant mpg then.
I do every day a trip back and forth to work. 8km In these 8km i m always in the rpm/load zone where Wayne did changes to the cam intake advance. Car is super fluid, i do not do hard acceleration because oil is cold but with Wayne cam i get worse average consumption that what i get with ots cam timings. With wayne timings i get 9.5 km/l (not familiar with Miles and gallons so i let you do the conversion) with ots cam i get 10.5-10.6 km/l |

If you get way worse fuel economy after installing header, cgeck your ltft if its running high like 10% or npre especially at lower. \rpm, you likely jave amd exhaust leak. Generally this wil caise o2 sensor to see fresh air so ecu tginks car is rin ing lean so ot add lots of fiel via high positive ltft.
And dont ise o2 sensor spacers when you have tune, and never put spacer or adapter in front o2 sensor, ive had seceral cars turn up from exhaist shop installs with spacer in front 02 it thows fueling way off. |

Why would one ever put spacer for front O2 sensor?
![]() Those are some very weird techs/exhaust shops it had been done at. |

I'm sorry i created confusion in the op's mind. He created this thread because of something I wrote that was somehow misleading
my car does NOT drinks like a V8 and I created confusion saying about my INSTANT consumption relevations. And i should had not do that So, OP, don t worry you won't consume like a V8 if you change header and tune the car The post of mine you cited, I repeat, was only to say that specifically after putting Wayne's Rom cam timings, my fuel consumption rised a bit compared to OTS cam timings, during low speed low load city driving, but gained a lot of smoothness and driveability from them |

Quote:
if it was totally intentionally done by the factory, a good tune would get rid of it even with stock header But you need tune AND Uel header or long tubes header to get rid of it almost totally so that is not so true |

Shops were putting right angled spacer in front o2 so they could fit sensor in easier, seen it done three times now on x force header, as with that header you cannot get sensor in when header on car you have to remove sensor and header and fit senors to header before you fit header to car.

I can't imagine what would happen to my E85 16 MPG if I added a header.
