I definitely will do come the time I'm looking to buy an 86, just did the quote for curiousity's sake. Quite suprised though. It's $400 more expensive than insuring a brand new Golf GTI (I got a price for that at the same time.) I know Shannons are normally more expensive than other insurers but I was expecting closer to the $1000 mark.

27. Female. License for 10 years, havent lost one point.

$37,990 agreed value.

AAMI: $1,042 + $875 excess.
Toyota: $995.67 + $600 excess.
NRMA: $916 + $650 excess.
NRMA: $767.34 + $1000 excess.

NRMA is good if you are 26+, driven for more than 2 years and no accidents. I dont even have to nominate drivers (no excess for drivers unlisted if they are older and have 2 years+ with no at fault claims)

Garaged Outer Eastern Melbourne
Toyota 86 GTS Auto
Premium ~$1,500 for daily use cover
Basic Excess of $500
(Currently have two policies with Shannons - 1 car, 1 House Contents insurance but at one point I had three cars comprehensively insured with them under my name at one time)

A bit expensive considering I have a flawless driving record. Maybe come time to buy one I'll need to do a bit of haggling.
try aami or toyota... heaps cheaper with ur profile i bet.

Hey, does it matter that I just lost my first 2 points on my license (for doing 55 in a school zone), or is it just accident history they ask for?

Cheers

It shouldn't do, depends on the insurance company. Some want to know about any tickets, others just want to know if you've had accidents, lost your licence or have any other criminal conviction.
