I think it’s looking good... for me it’s about price now. If it’s the same price as a boxster or cayman, then (IMO) it’s too expensive.
If it’s cheaper than these cars then it’ll be a big brother to the twins... sporty and good value.
I don’t see Toyota selling too many/being a great success based on the above.

Guff's source says these are the closest rendering to the real car. looks good in my book.

Not too excited about the looks and specs. There are so many choices at this price range. I would buy a Corvette instead.

The projected volume for the new Supra is 10,000 units/yr.
Corvette sold upwards of 35,000 units in the US alone last year.
A lot of people will agree with you no doubt. Not sure how things stack up but I expect Supras to be less money than Corvettes in Canada. And less powerful too.
If the weight is 3000 lbs and the car produces 385 HP I'll be ok with it

In fact, I have a pretty good idea what a RWD compact coupe with that power/weight ratio feels like

Yeah, if it is 25k more to pay, I would rebuild a twin; engine, brakes, suspension, exhaust, cooling, and boost it to 500hp. Now that is a special car. Otherwise, I want a Corvette or, perhaps, a Cayman.

Agreed, corvette is a much better performer. Although I have considered a Cayman s in the past.

why assume that? I think there are plenty of people that fit that description who have money to burn for a car they can look good in and tell their friends about.

I have a buddy who isn't really into cars like he has never done an oil change & doesn't want to learn how to drive stick but he knows all the "cool" cars. He just went from a Prius to a F Type R a few weeks ago and drives it like a grandma lol..

Anything alfa started looking really attractive...4C & Giulia Quadrifoglio for example...
