Do they mean at launch? Surely there would have to be at least 20 coming in just as demos!

The number I heard was 200 for the rest of the year.

I was told cars and launch with all the info on Friday, but that's at odds with the website at the moment...

Its a "Limited Edition" (Numbered series) of 201 cars - at least for this model year. My Subaru dealer told me not to expect anymore for at least 2 years but considering how much of a success the 86 is I highly doubt that.

That is consistent with what I've heard (the 200 car limit, not the 2 year thing).

After 18 years and 7 cars, I reckon that's just about the end of the line for me and Subaru.

Nick Senior thinks he's a clever marketer, but I was planning to buy 2 Subarus this year ... now it will be none.

Toyota, here I come.

The only reason I'd line up for a "1 of 200" cars is if it had the DIT FA20, brakes to suit and an upgraded interior. Hell, I'd pay $50k-$60k for that!

If Nick thinks sticking a number on cars that are otherwise identical to an 86 somehow makes them "exclusive", he is yet again mistaken.

Perhaps they are all blue? That would actually make some sense.

I just got off the phone with my broker. He asked what colour I wanted and my response was "Any colour, except black. But I'll take black if I have to".

No, I don't much care about colour

To add insult to injury, have you seen the numbering, it's bloody terrible, looks like he did it himself with a label maker from Office Works! I was at least expecting something similar to the V6 STi.

Nope, haven't seen the numbers. They could be etched in Gold, simply putting a number on a car does not make it more desirable.
