Wanting a burger at an airport reminds me of a story.

It was a dark, dreary night in November, when I woke up (or maybe I hadn't gotten to sleep yet) in a hotel room, at a hotel at the Gatwick Airport (UK).

I told mrs humfrz I was hungry for a cheese burger and I was going out to try to find one. She said, good luck with that …… can't you wait for the big English breakfast. I said no, because I can't go to sleep if I'm hungry.

So, I took off on foot through the airport. GUESS WHAT … ?? Just off the main terminal, I heard juke box music from the 50s and saw a big neon sign that said BURGERS ……. open 24 hours.

I thought I was dreaming (and maybe still drunk), however I chowed down on a deluxe cheeseburger, fries and a chocolate malt.

Oh, ya ……. I learnt that the hard way, back on the farm, while putting up hay, on a hot July day. My brother tossed me a glass jug of that stuff, which was cold, right out of the cistern. I guzzled down almost the whole jug …… then damn near fell off the wagon. Yep, toxic stuff …..

Thanks again for showing me the Lotus. Was going to mention the other day, but forgot, that the interior reminded me of the GT40's, only a bit smaller. I got to sit in one of those originals at Blackhawk Cars and Coffee last year and I think it has a similar kind of high ridge door jam thing and small visibility.
