Well, now, that reminds me of the time, during college spring break, I was working for this electrician. We had just pulled into a crowded coffee shop parking lot for a donut and a cup of coffee.

Where he parked apparently was blocking another construction truck, so he asked me to go out and move his big work van. Yep, I backed it right into another big ugly truck ….. pretty hard.

So, I walked back into the coffee shop and asked who owned the white truck I just backed into. This big, ugly, ol boy stood up and followed me outside. He was not happy, he just turned to my boss and said ….. "no problem, I just hope that kid you have working for you is a better electrician than he is a driver".

If my old metalsmith instructor is any indication, that's where you'd go to smoke when you weren't supposed to be smoking...

Though he also always had some coffee out of his thermos.


He never shared, so I have no idea what kind of coffee it was...


Amazing teacher though, and not really just about working metal - I use things I learned in that class all the time.
