Need to drain/clean the windshield Wiper resevior
So last night at the begining of my 300 mile trip back to miami... a bug splattered on my windshield. I begin to spray the wiper fluid on the window and the wipers starts to smudge oil on both sides of my windshield..
I pull over when i get a chance and inspect everything... Looks like i have some algae in the wiper tank. I want to clean out/ flush the tank with some dishwashing soap and a drop of bleach but i would need to drain the frickin thing first and i cant find any info on it. I dont want to just push everything through the system as i dont want algae clogging up the nozzles. I cant find a drain on it... I can only find the pump, but no info on how to remove it. Help Me :Insert Kevin Hart meme Here: |

I would probably just cheat and pour some bleach in there, drive around on some bumpy roads and then just run it through. Maybe pull the hose off so the nozzles don't get clogged and spray bleach all over the car then drain the used crap into a bucket. I haven't been in there but I bet you have to pull the bumper cover or something similarly complicated to get the reservoir out.

Doesnt sound like a bad idea... Use the siphon to get the ammonia stuff out... then add water and bleach and drive and agitate... then run it out the line.... Hmmm...
That oil from the algae prolly adding dish soap |

Let sit for 2 hours Flushed thoroughly Then re-detailed the windows and washed the car. Ill report back if anything strange happens down the line. Ill leave you guys with this fresh pic

hmmm, never thought about this. I've actually never used my windshield washer before ever since I bought mine new. If it doesn't work from the factory, I wouldn't even know. LOL.

Reply for me? If so, I wax all my windows, so rain just beads off. Bird crap I wipe off with a waterless cleaner and MF towel. Bug guts don't bother me too much, and by the time I've accumulated enough, I wash the car. Only times I ever used my wipers is when condensation forms when parked, or if it is a light enough mist where the water doesn't bead together to fling off.
