Manual mode issue. Please help

Hello everyone. I hope anyone can help me. I have a 2013 FRS automatic. Started about a month ago. When on Manual mode. It doesn't shift most of the time. It only happens on the main shifter. It will work if you shift a few times. The paddle shifter works just fine. Thanks in advance

In manual mode the gear lever wont shift consistently but the paddle shifters do, I assume is the question, if so it could be the auto tranny ecu programming, or mechanical fault or possibly tranny fluid as sources of the problem.

If the paddle shifter initiates a shift every time without fault, but the shift lever doesn’t I suspect an electronic or sensor issue at the shift lever itself. Basically, it sounds like the transmission works fine mechanically and when shifting with the paddle shifters, so I’d start there.
