Good to know. I'll need to check mine next time it's on a lift.

Just went through this wonderful process. Transmission was much happier for a bit. Seems to be shifting like it did before the fluid change again.

I currently get an atf fluid odor after coming to a stop. I can only smell it in the cabin though. If i get out of the car i don't smell it or if i stick my nose under the car i don't smell it. I need to climb back under the car and take the cover off and make sure nothing is leaking. Has anyone else experienced this after changing atf fluid?

Anyone monitor their transmission temps? I have a gauge but can't find any info as to where the temp should be or what would be considered to hot.

cannot believe you guys are getting quotes under $200 for this service.. called two stealerships here and got quoted near $400 and at $360 for one.

Also, glad to hear that those of you changing around 60k are having no issues. I'm at 49k and contemplating changing sometime this summer.

I jest had my atf and diff fluids changed today at my local dealer.
$243 CAD after taxes. The shop rate is $139 / hr CAD.
I supplied 8L of my own redline atf and motul 300 diff oil.
I was told/read online I'd need 7.4L doing the flush and fill method for the AT but I got 2L back. The service manager stated the torque converter holds a lot of fluid that a flush doesn't even get out - when they tear down an AT they have to manually drain the TC. And the manuals say 1.2L to drain and fill the diff, but the tech said he had trouble getting the bottle in to fill and mangled it beyond re-use so I didn't get 0.8L back - nothing back of the motul
I figured the dealer shop would use a nozzle or transfer the fluid into a industrial syringe?

So that's my experience. Hope it helps others in some way

He had trouble? I didn't and I was on my back and didn't even raise the car when I did mine. I have an aftermarket exhaust though so that probably helped with clearance. I have a muffler delete and a trd that I switch between. And motul has a pop out funnle that's integrated with the bottle. Makes it easy just to squeeze it in there

I just had mines changed out at 52k miles. Wasn't too dirty and still had some red. The car doesn't feel dramatically different.

Have you disconnected the battery recently?

How long has it been doing it?

I have the same issue as you mr. hijacker. I was told it is the 'idle fluctuation' issue that is causing this, even though it's not necessarily idling in this situation. There is a TSB to fix it and all they do is reflash the TCM and it should fix the problem. I haven't gotten around to doing it but I heard it solves a few problems including the idle fluctuation, hard shifting in M mode and the idle dip when coming to a stop.

I went and had it done. It still does it, but it has never stalled and actually died. Just goes down to 500 then back to 700. My best guess is it would be the Torque converter, but if its not actually stalling I'm sure it's not the biggest deal. it sure annoys me though.

I've been very unlucky. No dealer wants to flash the TCM update for me in my 2014
