Drove my FRS today to get some data logs. Had to avoid two deer running around, and one of those twice lol. Did not crash.

The first time I heard it a few years ago I thought it had to be fake. Researched and found out it appears to be a real call.

I was afraid it was real …….

PS - reminds me of a back-in-the-day story (oh, I have a feeling I've told this one before.....).

Back in the corporate HQ, I had a temporary secretary once and I ask her to make me some airline reservations. Fly to Fargo, ND on Monday and return to NYC on Wednesday.

She came back a few minutes later and said, "mr humfrz, you can fly into Fargo …… but you can't fly out".

My reply was "Lisa, what do you think they do with all the airplanes that stack up at the Fargo airport?"

In all fairness, she was new and didn't realize that, at the time, the airline reservation book had two sections ……. one for departing flights and one for arriving flights.

THE END

It was a bright, sunny, warm day, today, as mrs humfrz and I headed out for a Sunday drive in our FR-S.

We stopped in and had a delicious breakfast at the Buttered Biscuit, my favorite breakfast place.

Afterwards, we took a leisurely, relaxing, drive through the countryside. On our way back, driving down a straight, wide, 2 lane country road at the speed limit, 45 MPH …..the unexpected happened.

A side road "T"s into the road we were on, with excellent visibility for seeing all ways. I saw this old blue, beat up, full sized pickup truck rolling up to the "T", where he had a stop sign.

Well, he just kept on rolling right out in front of us …..

With a twist of my wrist, I cut the wheel to the right, which happened to be just enough to miss the truck, then cut the wheel back to stay on the road and maintaining control.

It was one of those times where things happen so fast, you don't have time to hit the horn, let alone hit the brakes. So fast that mrs humfrz didn't have time to stomp on the floorboard, waive her arms or scream.

If it weren't for my military honed, lightning fast, reflexes and the tight, quick steering of the FR-S …… it could have turned out to be ugly.

We did not crash …….
