I have the prepped BRZ (this one under 1500 miles), just need the driver upgrades.

Excellent. I had noticed you were registered in STX again this year. I wasn't there last year but I'm looking forward to it. I'll be in Brian's old hot lava car.

I have a track prepped FRS that I am looking to convert to a STX class car for a few local events then convert back for track events. I have cut the black "diffuser" part out of my OEM rear bumper. Is this STX legal or am I buying a new bumper?

Well, at first I'd say if it was just locally I'd ask the region and see if you could just run in STX as is since it's something really minor.

However - looking at your build sheet for your car - you have a lot more things to worry about that make you STX illegal.

I am aware of the other things. The bumper is all I had a question on. Thanks!

You might be able to quickly make the car SM legal, but I have to agree - you're gonna need a lot more work to be close to STX. I have to check in roll bar.

Not legal but listed on your build page:
- Verus Hood Louvers
- Verus Front Splitter and Race Upgrade
- Verus Front End Plates
- Verus Rear Diffuser (Aggressive)
- Gutted
- Subaru JDM ac delete pulley
- Verus Brake Cooling kit (Full)
- Megan Racing toe links
- Cusco Lower Arm Brace
- Perrin master cylinder brace
- IRP Short Shifter V3
- TIC Steering rack bushings

Brake cooling kit because of modifications required, I believe.

Shifter hasn't been contested, but replaces part that could be considered transmission mount and probably is.

Diffuser and splitter end plates are definitely not SM legal, splitter you'd have to measure and check the rules.

Edit: I see I was posting when you replied. Useful for general education and probably double checking on your part

Thank you for this. I will read into the SM rules. I was thrown into DP the past weekend and no one seemed to have many answers for me. I am trying to figure out a class that I can compete in that I can convert my track oriented car into but I fear the car is to far gone for autox. After I posted that I dug into STX rules and realized the conversion is much harder than I thought. Maybe I will just prep my Honda prelude for autocross. You guys have been a huge help. I really appreciate it.
