Drove my FR-S today, did not crash...

Was on the 401 sunday morning, went to right lane to pass a truck cuz my exit was coming up anyways. Was about to pass truck but suv in front decided to drive the same speed as truck and not let anyone pass.

Truck turns on blinkers... Me thinks he knows I'm there because he does not try to switch lanes for a good 5 seconds+. Then the gap between truck and my FRS becomes narrows super fast... had to swerve right hard (luckily exit lane opened just in nick of time).

Did not crash... looked in rear view mirror, all cars behind slowed down in shock.

Good thing you were in an FRS. A minivan woulda been toast.

Had a pretty uneventful week last week. Pretty much every time I get in my car at least one person does something stupid (sometimes it's me), but nothing too bad comes to mind. Safe to say, I drove my car and still did not crash it.

Some pro tips:



1. NEVER assume they see you.


2. Especially if choosing to pass on the right (or left in the UK, Japan, Aussieland, ...) refer to tip 1.


3. FFS, don't be passing just to get to an exit. Sheesh!

Have you drove the 401 by Mississauga? By passing he means they were probably doing 20mph and he was doin 25.

This. My dad drives a harley and when I got this car he told me all about the biker rules because he saw how small the car is and how every other car is a pick up truck driven by a testosterone-fuelled bro around here and it has helped out alot. This was the golden rule. No matter how loud you are.. assume you are invisible.

For thread relevance purposes here is a story from this weekend.

Driving down Brant st. on saturday and got revved at by a turbo diesel lifted custom exhaust-having brotruck*(technical term) at a light. Did nothing. just dusted him to get in front an turn right when it went green. Dude got mad (obviously) and pulls up to the left of me at the next light.

Good tihng I saw his GIANT exaust tip pointed right at my window and smelled the diesel, closed my window right away and sure enough as I waited to make my right turn he tried to smoke me. If I hadn't closed my window who knows if he would have done it but my car would have been filled with black smoke.... Didn't crash

So Today I was in the right turning lane, and this lady in some cute kia cuv keeps inching forward out of a gas station like there are no cars there till the Kia emblem was like on the window..... had to maneuver out of the right turning lane to avoid some bad shit..... just another day in vegas i guess.


The cars behind us must be amazed of what's going on upfront.

I was in the right lane in the double turn lane (top right) on Route 129 waiting for the light to turn left into the right lane of the %&$#?@! circle, a.k.a., roundabout, rotary, whatever it's called where you live, to make a right to the mall (top left) when an SUV in the left lane, no blinker, decided she was going to try to occupy the same space in the right lane that I was in. Braked hard and did not crash.
