so i guess BRZ buyers have to pay for their floor mats

i do like the way Subaru have gone about this - not offering a high spec option - rather something between the GT and GTS.

only wish they had more accessories - most things pictured are either useless or come in the GTS.

The middle ground is the only spec Toyota doesn't offer and the only room for Subaru to fill.

Tell me about it. Was looking into a TT (in a moment of madness) earlier this year, options list was a page long and added 10-15k to the price for basic shit. Ridiculous.

Hahaha! I was going to say I quoted up a TT-S quattro before I got the IS-F, it came in at $110k! Are you kidding me?

The missus wanted it, but that was until she seen the Lexus....

Yeah Audi is a joke. I got quoted $100k ++ as well. Very poor customer service too.

Lexus on the other hand, fantastic car, no problems, service is great.

@Type[R]+ - Yes I still would have ordered an 86 if I had driven before ordering. Re: power - Toyota never said it was going to be fast. They told us it wouldn't be. The journos told us it wasn't fast before we got to drive it. Anyone expecting it to be was kidding themselves.
It's faster than my AE86 was, even with the heavily worked engine, but it's slower than my silvia and skyline were. I am happy with that.

Sucks for BRZ owners that they have to pay for floor mats!!

Looking at the option boot carpet accessory thingy:

- It looks like we have a spare full sized wheel

- What really peeved me off about the 86 was the boot space wasn't perfectly flat meaning fitting things into the boot would be mounting items in a weird way (small things peeve me off)

- I was hoping it wasn't in the brz but unluckily for me we have a full sized spare wheel. I could definitely live with it but just seems a bit odd

- What I would be wondering is if we have a full underside cover like the JDM optioned aero package optioned model. Also, if there is a button to fold in the wing mirrors.

I was told it was gutless before I drove it, and read the same articles you did. I certainly wasn't expecting anything fabulous, over the top, or 'fast' as you put it, but very suprised at the lack of torque, especially on such a light car, with a brand new designed modern engine. I drive a '148kw/234nm 1525kg' Honda daily too, I certainly wasn't aiming high! I would have thought this car over 300kg lighter with ~same power would have went a bit better.... Above 5k rpm was good though. I'm 99% sure I'll get one though, just not in a rush.

Power folding door mirrors in the spec sheet brochure.

I can't see anything about the under panel.

17" spare wheel too.

Fair enough. each to their own
I don't really think it's gutless. Agreed that it makes good power in the higher revs, but the lower rev power/torque is still sufficient for daily driving IMO. And then when you want to have fun, just drop down a gear or two and head to the fun side of 4000rpm
I was comparing it (roughly) with my high strung N/A AE86 with regards to performance. And it is quicker than that. I got to drive one quite hard on a tight, twisty road (up and down hill) and in that kind of environment, which it was really designed for anyway, i didn't feel it lacked power. You would be using 80-100% throttle, but that's fine. In a turbo/more powerful natro car you wouldn't get up/down the same hill any quicker because the extra power wouldn't be useable anyway. You'd end up spinning tyres and having to use less throttle anyway.
Well, those are my thoughts based on my test drive experiences

Nope. Surely they getting more than that? My dealership still knows SFA about the whole BRZ thing, but said they getting a car. The haven't been told when though. I guess we'll find out in a few days.
