I really hate the Facebook group i browse for OpenFlash...Its literally the exact same 3 questions being asked every day, 5 times a day...

I gave up on the "Search" thing years ago. I usually just passively aggressively give them a link to the info with no other explanation. Most of the time that gets them where they need to be and they carry on from there.

Then we have guys like khcho19 that simply can't seem to grasp that you can ask more than one question without starting a new thread.

The ultimate aggravation though is when a question is asked, we try to help and then the asker just shits all over everybody because it isn't what they want to hear.

Yea, I literally give up on that about 2.5 decades ago. It's the side effect of being in the IT industry.

Now, I just send the link. Back then, I'd take them the manual and show them the answer in the manual and leave it with them. No judgement (at least overtly) just "Hey, here's the answer right here, I looked it up in the index" kind of thing.

I've been much happier ever since...

I like to go visit people that are unsatisfied with my established boundaries.

Gaining any sort of a proper reputation on here proved rather difficult, so I am trying my luck on Jalopnik. Today was pretty solid, but I have far too many slow days as well.

The trick is to not go out and try to gain a reputation. Just do your thing no matter what people think. If you set out to make a reputation it rarely goes well.

This makes sense. That being said, I think my biggest issue, with intent or not, is a lack of time. I just can't commit to a reputation because it takes so much time! I don't know how you do it.
