Yes I understand this, but it is a bit strange. They could do this kind of testing on a public road and under legal speeds, which I suppose they are doing already a lot. They have also private roads and a factory track that can do some testing on the limits. I don't understand what's the point to test a car on this particular track, where you need a very high speed car (and a good handling one, but not only good handling). Just think that they were testing a car in Germany, that never went out of Japan and never saw a speed of more than 180km/h because of the limiter. Unless, they were testing it for some other project and to collect data. Maybe for an endurance race event like 24h. Subaru never sent officially a BRZ in this event, but Toyota did. Maybe they were sharing resources, testing different settings or something else.

Not sure if there is any error in the machine translation, but it looks they are saying the following:

Handling characteristics exceeding tS-model

Mr. Sato said: "In terms of steering response, slalom speed and lateral G it surpasses the tS model"

I would say that it would be accurate. A lot of the suspension and chassis improvements made to the stock 17+ FRS/86/BRZ were based on feedback/data gathered from development of the tS/GRMN/14R.

Just for anyone searching in the future, I assumed for some reason that this color was the same as Moon Slate/Thunder/Solid Gray in the Toyota that was a limited color sprayed from November 2017 to February 2018.

I had the chance to crawl over a Cool Grey Khaki tS today and compare it to my Moonslate, it’s definitely different.

Paint Code
tS - PAF
86 - PBA

I was gonna say.. It was just about accepted that Thunder and CGK were the same color, but I could never finally convince myself of it. CGK has a blue tint to it in really any light, but Thunder just kind of looks grey.

Thanks for sharing!

Never really liked the "Cool" color schemes. A lot of manufacturers have been going that fashion route. Cool tans, greens blues yellows... To me they look like an easter egg that didn't sit in the dye long enough.

And the seats look like Dead Pool melted all over them. I like that look, but it doesn't go with the exterior.

But each to his own - if you like it then that's cool too.

Why watch a bunch of losers complaining on YouTube that there's no turbo when you can watch Dori Dori driving the BRZ STI Sport.

My wife has the Cool Gray Khaki Crosstrek. It looks great...very rugged look with the blacktrim and wheels. However, I do think this color is very vehicle specific, so what looks good on one, might not look good on another. The photos on the first page make it appear light gray, but it is shade darker in real-life IMO.

Humm I think maybe they got the notion that the Nurburgring would give them accelerated trend data for street tuning in the shortest amount of time, due to the sheer number of different corners and elevation changes in just one lap. I once read on Evo magazine that 3 hot laps around the ring would enable the suspension to experience the wear of a decade's worth in a normally driven average road car.

I made this comment more than a year ago? Yes they focus on better road performance, it is just not tested on the Nurburgring to post times ...

I want this so badly. How hard would it be to at least get the wheels/STI seats?

I can get you the seats. Granted they're a bit worn (need steaming to get out indentations in the leather) and you're looking at 1200. Just the two fronts.

Looks like some info is starting to pop up regarding 2019's Series.____ edition. This video mentions Series.Gray as the next one, but only goes so far as to mention it on the WRX/STi. Maybe it'll be on the BRZ, as well, though we have now had one model year where the Series.___ plate did not go to both the WRX and BRZ.
