Great house, if you can afford to pay someone to clean it.

Too much black for me. I'm sure I will like the new ones better. And they are just a bit wider, so I can run the same size tire, or a little wider. The tire/wheel guru on the lotus board told me that they are the best fit rim for my car Lotus ever made.

I think once we realize we don't have to work 40+ hours a week each, doing a house chore, car maintenance, and other tasks without any deadline will actually be enjoyable.

I want a riding lawnmower with a cup holder.

Well, can't sleep.

I was thinking about this and was reminded of something my wife told me years ago. I had just spend a bunch of money on one of my car projects. It was a Saturday and I was in the garage working on the project. My wife was in the house visiting with a friend. The friend's husband was gone golfing for the weekend.

The friend asked my wife why she "lets" me spend on cars. And my wife said something like:

"That's his thing. He doesn't golf or go out at night. I know where my husband is and what he is doing. He is in the garage playing with cars. Do you know where your husband is and what he is doing? "

Well that is sort of how it goes with hobbies though. They can be expensive but often those costs are simply not ovious like a car is. I probably have enough model kits stashed around the house to have paid for all of the mods on your car and still have cash left over. My new hobby of traveling to the West Coast every few months (if we carry through with our plan for October it will be 4 trips in a year) could easily buy me a weekend toy. Sombody that drops a few hundred dollars a month on golf could buy themselves a Lotus with ease. A car is just a more in your face hobby than most since all the money spent is gathered in one spot for everybody to see (and judge).

And it takes a very expensive hobby to rival a wedding... I think all things involved in getting married will wind up costing more than all things involved with my car, including the car.

Somehow the "I could just buy a Lotus or Porsche instead Dear" argument wouldn't go over well...

I'm sure you are right, your mother in law would never go for that.
