context: current manager is actually a director for 6 or so teams. he took over for my previous manager who left for an unknown length leave (at least 6 months so he's basically gone), who took over from another guy as manager back in June. also somebody left back in September.

I had 12 managers in 3 years (not all due to leaving the company). It sucks, particularly when performance reviews come around and you are graded against your previous-previous-previous manager's criteria which the new manager doesn't really get. So the new manager just says everyone met expectations regardless of whether you busted your ass or sat on it doing damn near nothing. Then they wondered why people kept leaving. . It's a vicious cycle.

My solution after the first 5 or 6 was to just start running things and tell each manager how "they" should run things better than the last one and convince them it was their idea in the first place.

Tldr, I have been there and it certainly sucks. Good luck.

Yeah, this and other issues are why I will be leaving soon as long as I can find a new job.

Been here 3 years anyway, so I'd love a change of pace in a bunch of different ways.
