Considering the popularity of the "...did not crash" thread, I was shocked there wasn't a counterpart.

Just heard from the shop, they said I can pick it up this afternoon!

I've used my right foot on the clutch before too. I had a dead battery and needed to push start the car. I find it easier to do it in reverse when you don't have help. So, right foot on the clutch and left foot out the door pushing the car backwards. Pop the clutch, it starts, push the clutch right back in and then pull the ebrake.

In my case getting an auto would not be a solution. Hahaha

...never mind, saw your thread in the 86 area. Good luck with yours, it looks a little more intrusive than mine was

Braggs Auto Body in Charlottesville, VA. They had the best reviews around so I went with them and can definitely vouch for their work. The only hint that it has had paint work done is due to the fact that the finish on the front end is smoother than the back half. Their work has a nearly glass finish, the factory finish has some orange peel texture going on. I was actually thinking about bring it back and having them cut/buff the back half so the original paint looks as good as the repaired area.

Do a paint correction first, polish it then wax it. Worth every penny

Dont't want to open a new Thread, but I have to vent a little:

Drove my BRZ and crashed.

I was sidesweeped on the Autobahn by some Russian guy in an SUV.
He hit me in the driver side rear quarter with his passenger side front fender on a perfectly straight stretch of road with a ban on lane changing.

By reflex I managed to countersteer and luckily not scatter my car on the left lane barrier at 80km/h (yay for sportive driving courses!), but to come to a stop on the right lane and drag my girlfriend out the car behind the concrete barrier.
All this happened on a bridge inside a construction site, so there was just a small corridor between the barrier and a safety railing, followed by a 25 meter drop.

Luckily, the police arrived within 5 minutes, otherwise I would have probably been beaten unconscious or thrown off the bridge by that other guy - he was about twice my weight and definitely had some problems going on.

Result at the end of the day: My girlfriend is knocked out with whiplash for 2,5 weeks, I was almost thrown off a bridge, some asshat ran over my warning triangle, and my poor BRZ has taken quite a beating.

My damage has been ascertained to just shy of 5.000 Euros, plus loss of value and compensation for pain and suffering for my girlfriend (the latter one is ridiculously low in Germany, should be around 300 Euros or so).

Now the best part: It is completely clear that the SUV driver hit ME, but now his insurance blocks any settlement, because they want to attribute part of the fault to me, simply because "my car is too low".

I am on 25mm springs, fully certified etc. Why should it be my Problem if some dimwit in his SUV tank does not see me while I am (partly) in front of him?!

Of course I could use my full coverage, but the increased rates would rip my wallet a new one, and since I am not at fault, this would be the worst option.

So, repair not possible for the moment and off to the lawyer we go...

Sorry for the rant, but this has to get out of my system, and in the German forums I want to keep quiet until this thing has been settled.

No doubt your lawyer and yourself have thought of this but I was curious about the normal height of some of the more common European sports cars and how they would compare.
No doubt these guys would have no issue collecting on insurance.

BRZ lowered 25mm = 51"

Mercedes Stock heights
Amg = 50"
SLC = 51"
SL = 51"

Porsche
718 = 50"
911 = 51"

Lotus = 45"

Jag F Type = 51"

Audi R8 = 48"

Fiat 124 = 48"

The list is not even nearly complete but clearly shows that 51" should not be considered abnormally low.

You get into some of the Super Cars and they make 51" look like an SUV in height!

Thanks for the heads-up, much appreciated.
I indeed discussed this point with my lawyer, but he says that this point is absolutely irrelevant, as long as the car is fully road-legal (which it is, I have this certified).

Nonetheless it may be that I will get something line 1/3 fault quota, simply because I can not 100% prove that I was not at fault - sadly, dashcams are illegal here, otherwise there would not be the shadow of a doubt...

The thing that depresses me most is, that I can not start the repairs yet.
