Totaled or nah?

Well after 4 years or ownership and 85k kms it finally happened.

We had some crappy weather conditions today in the GTA, I was on my way out to a friends for a birthday party and a momentary loss of traction and off into the barrier I went.

No airbag deployment, the crash itself felt like nothing, which was surprising to me, this is my first car, and first accident. No other cars involved so hopefully the insurance process is fairly simple.

How bad is this gents? Check the link below.

Really hard to say from pics but I am pretty comfortable saying that is totally repairable. The fact the bags didn't deploy means a lot.

UGH! ........THAT is ugly ......

I hope you are OK ...... other than disappointed.

The insurance will most likely fix it ......unless there is some engine damage we can't see.

Seems we are having a rash of these cars getting banged up here lately .....

The only thing that's bruised is my ego. I just feel silly not being able to get the thing back under control.

The damage looked fairly cosmetic to me, but we'll see what insurance says on monday.

It was brutal weather around here today and will be even worse tomorrow. Last I heard on the news was that there had been over 1,200 accidents like this in the region today (well yesterday I guess). Supposed to be even worse tomorrow.

Airbags are a hyper expensive system to replace. When I worked for AAA towing, I found out that here in the states, they'll fix most anything aside more than one airbag going off on a newer car. You'll be OK, they'll probably ask that you don't go bowling without bumpers for a while.

Glad you're safe, chin up; some of life's most important lessons can be covered by insurance, so don't skip class!

EDIT just noticed you're in Canada... I have no advise! The only totalled cars I've seen in Canada are at Napierville Dragway

Welp, don't feel too bad ....... my take is that one doesn't remember all the times that we DID bring the car back under control ....... we just remember the times we DIDN'T ........

Check the metal between the roof and the window, if it's not straight and smooth as it was on day one (or if there's a dent or don't you know was there before then that's fine) you've got damage into the chassis and it's probably totaled.
